Welcome to McDesk for Windows.

Here are some last minute updates:

o The install program now has an UNINSTALL feature.
This can be used for any application directory
and will optionally remove applications which
have been installed as the Windows shell.

o Install will automatically create a McDesk
Program Group, even if you install it as the
          Windows shell.

o The McDesk Toolbox supports up to 64 user
          defined icons.

o You may drag and drop any files and/or folders
on the toolbox to be used as a button. If you
do not define an icon for buttons, McDesk's
          default icons will be used.

o If you drop .ICO, .BMP, or .ICC files on the
toolbox, they will used as the bitmap for the
button you are defining. You then specify the
          executable file for that button.

o The toolbox can be attached to the menu bar or
free-floating on the desktop. Vertical and
          horizontal orientations are available.

o McDesk batch files can be used as buttons in
          the toolbox.

o Folders can be used as buttons in the toolbox.
Just drag and drop them onto the toolbox.

o You may hide the McDesk menu bar and use only
          the toolbox.

o Long filenames up to 48 characters are supported.

o Color is now supported for desktop fonts.
Colors are selected in the SELECT FONT dialog
          box.

o All Windows application files are supported
through drag-and-drop printing using the Windows
          SHELL.DLL interface.

o Icons can be customized by dragging the new icons
into the Icon Manager window. Just select the
SHOW ICON WINDOW option of the Window Menu, then
drag the new icon to the Icon Manager window.

o The Command Manager (CMDMGR.EXE) now replaces
the Windows task manager. When you double
click on the desktop, the CMDMGR options
	  are shown.

o Command Manager provides password access
          to Windows.

o You can now display a "command line" at the
bottom of the screen. This command line supports
all of the Command Manager commands (copy, del,
dir, show, hide, close, etc. - see manual for
          a complete list).

o The Command Manager now supports a new
command: EDIT. This command will use either
NOTEPAD.EXE or a user defined editor to edit
files. The text editor is defined in the
MCDESK.INI file in the [Desktop] section
          using the "Text editor" keyword.
          Syntax is: EDIT {filename}.

o The File information option (in the File menu)
now supports changing file attributes and file
          dates.

There are many other features in McDesk version 4.0.
Please refer to the manual for details.

We also welcome your feedback on the current product and
any input you may have on functions you would like to see
incorporated into future versions of McDesk. At this time
we plan a Windows NT release about the end of 1993.
