          S P H E R I C A L K A L E I D O S C O P E

I want to propose you my program for drawing on the sphere and
pasting it of paper for children, artists and education. All
of us likes ornaments, therefore artists and designers adorn
books, clothes, wallpapers etc. with beautiful ornaments. That
is the reason, why I decided to make a program to aid
designing ornaments. But it is difficult to invent something
new, because people create new ornaments for many thousand
years. However under impression of works of H.S.M. Coxeter,
M.J. Wenninger, B. Grunbaum and J.J. Pederson I made the
program: Spherical kaleidoscope.
Ornament on the spere has an inerresting prorerty: it is
infinite while any plane ornament always has its boundary, our
experience decidedly tells about it. So the spherical molels
looks very attractive, for instance, the two-colored Mobius
triangles.
The start of the program is DRAWING.EXE, then press Enter.
Control of the program is rather simple, one can learn it
after the short work with it. There is a help to draw circles:
you can input a centre, then four distances will be on the
screen from the cross to the centre and to its three
reflections around the sides of the triangle, and an angle in
the range of 0-360. A help for drawing a strip consists in
showing the width of the strip - the distanse from the cross
to the first side of the polygon when drawing it.
Children can design tesselations of the many famous regular
polyhedra without serious difficaltis, and print patterns to
paste their spherical models. One must paste two halves of the
spherical model and then put them together.
I hope you'll be pleased with the program.
Vulihman Valentin, I like geometry and work many years in
area of geometrical designing of VLSI: routing, layout, design
rule checking, I am 51 y.o. My address: Moscow 129041, B.
Perejaslavskaja 10, kw. 120, tel. 280-53-53.

 Moscow,
tel. 280-53-53, after 21 o'clock, or E-mail, Valentin
Vulihman. Besides I look for a work, I like and know giometry,
routing, placement and layout in VLSI and PWB, I have ideas
and assistants. But I am 52.
