	1) Third-party Catalog
	2) Changes and Enhancements

1) Third-party Catalog

	A third-party software catalog is included on a separate disk
	in the cc:Mail for Windows Platform Pack. This catalog lists
	third-party applications that work with, or in conjunction with the
	cc:Mail products. The catalog is in cc:Mail-archive format. You may
	want to copy this file from the floppy disk and move it to a
	bulletin board in your post office so that other cc:Mail users can
	access it.

	The changes are summarized below.

Log-in Dialog
	The log-in dialog box has a new "Save Name Into WIN.INI" check box
	that enables the user to save their post office path and log-in name
	to WIN.INI. This feature allows several users to share a workstation,
	such that each user can log-in without changing the default log-in
	when another user logs in.

	Note: Passwords are not saved or read to or from WIN.INI.

Reply
	The Reply feature has been modified such that when you reply to a
	mail message, if the message has been replied to more than once, you
	see "Re:[n]", where "n" indicates the number of times the message has
	been sent using reply.

Large Directory Support
	cc:Mail for Windows, Version 1.11, supports directories of up to
	493,215 users if your site is running cc:Mail for DOS Platform Pack
	4.0, and cc:Mail for Macintosh, Version 2.0.

Blind Carbon Copy(BCC)
	Addressing mail to multiple blind correspondents (BCC) is enhanced.
	Mail addressed to BCC recipients displays and scrolls faster than in
	previous releases.

Text Editor
	You can use the Insert key to toggle between insert and overstrike
	mode. In insert mode, the edit cursor is vertical; in overstrike
	mode, the cursor is horizontal.

Fax Printing
	When you select a list of messages to be printed from the Inbox,
	folders, archives, or bulletin boards, faxes are printed along with
	text items.

Fax Rotation
	You can rotate a Fax image 180 degrees using the asterisk (*) key.

Text Filters and Viewers
	cc:Mail for Windows, Version 1.11, uses filters to import different
	types of text into cc:Mail so that you can view or print text from
	mail.

	Caution: Set the parameter called ANSI Character Set under the
	[Plain-Lex] section in your Softek.ini file to 1. This will ensure
	that our new ASCII filter will work properly. This file is in
	your Windows subdirectory. You can also run the Workstation Install
	program for cc:Mail for Windows, Version 1.11, that copies the updated
	Softek.ini file.

	Here is a list of supported text and table filters:

	ASCII (Plain Text or DOS Text)
	DCA/RFT
	Microsoft Word
	Rich Text Format
	Windows Write
	Word for Windows
	WordPerfect versions 5.0 and 5.1
	AmiPro 2.0

	Additional filters are in cc:Mail's Bulletin Board. Contact Technical
	Support for more information. The CCFILTER.INI and new filters are
	automatically added when you install the client software on the
	network.

	Here is an example of the CCFILTER.INI file:

	[filter]
	MaxFilter=7
	application1=DCA/RFT,T,.*, RFT.FLT
	application2=Microsoft Word,T,.*, Word.FLT
	application3=Rich Text Format,T,.RTF,RTF.FLT
	application4=Windows Write,T,.*, WRITEFLT.FLT
	application5=Word for Windows,T,.DOC,WWORD.FLT
	application6=WordPerfect 5.0 & 5.1,T,.*, WP.FLT
	application7=Ami Pro,T,.SAM,AMIP.FLT

	Here is an explanation of the parameters in CCFILTER.INI.
	MaxFilter= specifies the maximum index of the applicationX.

	ApplicationX= specifies the filter supported, where X can
			be 1 through the number specified in MaxFilter=.
			To add another filter, use the number after the last
			application and change MaxFilter= to the next number.

	The format of the profile is shown below using application5 as an
	example.
		application5=Word for Windows,T,.DOC,WWORD.FLT

	Word for Windows is a description the text format
	T indicates a text filter(X is for Table filters)
	.DOC is the extension of the text files
	WWORD.FLT is the actual name for filter

	Attached documents that have filters now print correctly.

Lex Printing
	The lex formatting engine word-wraps text, based on the font size
	and the size of page selected.

Forwarded Messages
	Messages that are forwarded but are not forwarded as "New" are
	designated by a "Fwd by" button. When you click the button, it
	displays a Forwarding Information Window that shows the forwarding
	history of the message. In previous releases, this button was
	labeled "From" on the Message Window.

Message Log Folder and Message Lists
	The Message Log Folder and Message lists windows will display the
	first recipient instead of the sender.

Setting a Default Directory
	To choose a default directory when you use the Save As or Attach
	commands, put the string "DefaultWorkPath" under the cc:Mail section
	in the WIN.INI file, and assign a default working directory to it,
	as shown in the example below:

		DefaultWorkPath=c:\work

	The next time you use the Save As or Attach command, cc:Mail will
	always default to that directory first.

Detecting the TEMP Directory
	You must have the "SET TEMP" DOS environment variable set to a valid
	subdirectory, as shown in the example below:

		MD TEMP
		SET TEMP=C:\TEMP

	This directory is used by all Windows applications including cc:Mail
	for Windows. cc:Mail for Windows uses it as a directory to write
	temporary files to when attaching, viewing or printing file
	attachments. If a TEMP directory is not detected, cc:Mail cannot be
	opened.

	You can put your SET TEMP in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file so it loads every
	time you use Windows.

Forwarding and Replying Options
	Whenever a message is forwarded or replied to, the resulting new
	message assumes the message options set in Messages Options in the
	File menu. For example, if you set message options to enable receipt,
	the next time you forward or reply to a message, the program will
	enable receipt for you.

Windows 3.1 International Character Set
	Microsoft has changed the way the international character set is
	enabled in Windows 3.1. To use the international character set, you
	must run Windows 3.1 setup from the DOS prompt, because the Codepage
	setting is not available for changing in the Windows Setup from the
	Control Panel after you have entered Windows.

	In cc:Mail for Windows version 1.11, the User Install detects which
	version of Windows you are running. When running under Windows 3.1,
	cc:Mail will alert you with a dialog box explaining the proper steps
	for accessing the international character set. When running Windows
	3.0, the cc:Mail User Install functions as it did before.

Windows 3.1 Keyboard Compatibility for Edit Functions
	cc:Mail for Windows, Version 1.11, provides accelerator keys for
	editing functions, as shown below:

	    CTRL + C        Copy

	    CTRL + X        Cut

	    CTRL + V        Paste

	    CTRL + Z        Undo

	These accelerator keys will not be shown on the Edit menu. You can
	also use the old accelerator keys, for example, SHIFT + INS for
	pasting text.

Macros and DDE
	The file WINMACRO.ZIP includes a number of examples of macros
	that enable DDE with various third-party products. This file is
	posted on the cc:Mail Technical Support Bulletin Board; the phone
	number is (415) 961-0401.

SmartIcons
	SmartIcons are not greyed in this version for performance reasons,
	due to the potentially large size of the SmartIcon palette. This
	also gives cc:Mail a consistent look with other Lotus Windows
	applications such as Ami Pro, Lotus 1-2-3, and Freelance.

Wnotify Command Line Parameters
	Wnotify works in conjunction with the Post Office path, user name,
	and user-password parameters when placed in the same command line
	in the WMAIL.EXE. If these parameters exist in the command line,
	Wnotify will not read the equivalent parameters in the WIN.INI file
	when cc:Mail is invoked using these command line parameters.

Attaching Faxes Using DDE "AttachFile" Command
	When using the DDE "AttachFile" command to attach a fax file
	to your message, the confirmation dialog box querying whether to
	attach as a fax file no longer appears. The fax file is automatically
	attached without this confirmation dialog box. This had prevented DDE
	macros that attached fax files from operating in a totally automated
	manner.

Password Field Security Issues
	For security reasons, cc:Mail for Windows no longer reads the
	password profile string in the WIN.INI file. Any password profile
	string that the workstation install finds is removed. In addition,
	cc:Mail for Windows does not write the password field in the
	property item command line as part of the workstation installation.
	As a result, the workstation installation does not include the
	password as an input parameter. Instead, the word "PASSWORD" is
	entered automatically by the workstation installation program as
	part of the command-line parameter.

	With the word "PASSWORD" in the command line, every time cc:Mail
	is invoked, the Login Menu is always displayed for the user to enter
	their actual password. If the word "PASSWORD" is omitted from the
	command line, cc:Mail for Windows assumes that there is no password
	and attempts to log in. The PASSWORD string can be changed to the
	user's actual password any time the user desires the capability to
	bypass the Login menu when invoking cc:Mail. The decision whether to
	leave the word PASSWORD as it is or replace it with the user's
	password is the user's responsibility.

Using IBM OS/2, Version 2.0
	If you are using cc:Mail for Windows Version 1.11 with IBM OS/2
	2.0, cacheing is disabled by default. To enable cacheing, you need an
	updated version of IBM OS/2 2.0 from IBM (1-800-237-5511). You must
	also add the following line to the [cc:Mail] section of the WIN.INI
	file:
		  OS2CACHE=1
