1) INSTALL 2.0, and KEEP EARLIER GEOWORKS:

Choosing this installation option means that you already have
GeoWorks Ensemble or Pro installed on your hard drive, and you
wish to retain that version AND install your new GeoWorks
Ensemble 2.0. If you use AMERICA ONLINE, and have enough hard
disk space, this is the best installation to choose.

You will be asked for the location of your existing GeoWorks
directory. The Install Utility will check that the directory
exists, and if necessary, will offer you the opportunity to
select another location. If you continue, your existing
GeoWorks directory structure and files will remain unchanged.

GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0 will then be installed and a copy of your
DOCUMENT and FONT directories, their sub-directories, and their
contents, will be copied to the appropriate Geoworks Ensemble 2.0
directories, and will be AUTOMATICALLY upgraded to GeoWorks
Ensemble 2.0 file format.

2) UPGRADE:

Choosing this installation option means that you already
have GeoWorks Ensemble or Pro installed on your hard drive,
and you wish to REPLACE it with your new GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0.

You will be asked for the location of your existing GeoWorks
directory. The Install Utility will check that the directory
exists, and if necessary, will offer you the opportunity to
select another location. If you continue, the DOCUMENT and FONT
directories in your current version of GeoWorks will be backed-up
into a new directory called GEOSBACK. The entire directory
structure of your existing version of GeoWorks will then be
deleted.

***************************NOTE******************************
ANY FILES located in the GEOWORKS DIRECTORY STRUCTURE,
whether used by GeoWorks or not, WILL BE DELETED.
*************************************************************

GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0 will then be installed and a copy of your
DOCUMENT and FONT directories, their sub-directories, and their
contents, will be copied to the appropriate Geoworks Ensemble 2.0
directories, and will be AUTOMATICALLY upgraded to GeoWorks
Ensemble 2.0 file format.

3) NEW INSTALL:

If you choose Install New, the GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0 files
will be installed into a new directory called GEOS20.

****************************NOTE*********************************
If you choose to install GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0 into
a directory where another version of GeoWorks Ensemble 2.0
exists, ALL SYSTEM FILES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN.
YOUR DOCUMENT FILES WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED.
*****************************************************************

***** MODIFICATION OF SYSTEM FILES *****

In all of the above three installation choices, the option to
modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT & CONFIG.SYS is offered if needed.

                  ***** AFTER INSTALLATION *****

You will be walked through the process of selecting your video,
mouse, and printer.

**** IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS ****

If you encounter problems during the installation of GeoWorks
Ensemble 2.0, please refer to your Trouble Shooting Guide.

 I N S T A L L A T I O N T I P S & T R I C K S:
*****************************************************

1) Disk compression software has caused some of our test
computers to crash. If you experience a similar
occurrence, with this or any other software, use the
following standard procedure prescribed by software
installers: Reboot your computer with your CONFIG.SYS
and AUTOEXEC.BAT files stripped to a minimum. Finish the
installation and then try adding the removed lines back into
the two files. Change the order in which the lines appear
in the two files as is needed.

2) With almost all disk compression software, after you have
completed the installation, it will be necessary for you to
modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files using a text
     editor.

3) If you get a SHARE.EXE Table Overflow Error, try adding
/f:4096 to the line you use to invoke SHARE in your
     CONFIG.SYS file (e.g., Install=C:\DOS\SHARE.EXE /f:4096).

4) If you are connected to a NOVELL network, you must create a
SHELL.CFG file in your C: drive's root directory. To create
the file, type the following at the DOS prompt, using the
     DOS echo command:

                echo file handles = 100 > shell.cfg
                (then hit the enter key)

"file handles = 100" will be the only line in the file.

5) With some computers, you may need to put disks in ALL
available drives in order to proceed. Additionally, it has
been reported that when installing to a Bernoulli drive, the
drive must be "locked" (the door shut and a cartridge placed
in the drive) BEFORE allowing the installer to check
available drives. If you have a Bernoulli drive, it should
be "locked" even if you are not attempting to install to it.

6) If you do not complete the installation, a residual
directory may exist. The DIRECTORY name will be
ISFYQVO.TWJ and may contain a FILE called SWAPFILE.HDR.

To delete the FILE, type the following at the DOS prompt:

                del isfyqvo.twj\*.*
                (hit the enter key)

You will then see the following:

All files in directory will be deleted!
                Are you sure (Y/N)?
(hit a "y" and the enter key)

To delete the DIRECTORY, type the following at the
     DOS prompt:

                rd isfyqvo.twj
                (hit the enter key)

            *********** End of File ***********
