ADDITIONAL NOTES ON CORELCHART

OLE Support for Bitmaps, Fountain Fills, Vectors
------------------------------------------------
Because of the limitations of the Windows Clipboard,
which is the conduit for all Microsoft Object Linking
and Embedding operations, OLE does not yet support
linking or embedding of objects which contain CorelCHART-
generated bitmaps, fountain fills, or vector graphics
used for pictographs. This means that any CorelCHART
file which is to be linked or embedded in a CorelDRAW
or CorelSHOW file cannot contain fills comprised of
bitmaps, fountain fills,or vector graphics.

Excel 4.0 Support
-----------------
CorelCHART! cannot import Microsoft Excel 4.0 files nor will it accept data
from Excel 4.0 via the clipboard. Data files generated in Excel 4.0 should
be saved in the Excel 3.0 format for use in CorelCHART.

COMMON PROBLEMS

Problems when starting CorelCHART!
--------------------------------------------
CorelCHART! may act unpredictably if the users system is low on disk space
or system resources, and in some instances may cause a GPF.

The following options may help correct the situation:

-On systems with 4 MEGS of RAM the addition of more memory or the creation
of a large (10 MEG) permanent swapfile will help.

-Ensure that the system has a valid SET TEMP statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT
and that the TEMP directory actually exists.

-CorelCHART! requires its own TEMP directory (it should be in the CHART
subdirectory) as well as the system TEMP directory.

Charts pasted into CorelDRAW! don't look or print correctly
-----------------------------------------------------------
The probable cause for this would be limitations of the Windows Clipboard.
The solution would be to convert all CorelCHART! objects into CorelDRAW!
objects. You can do this by Opening up the CORELDRW.INI file and changing
the following option in the [CDrawConfig] section:
OLEConvertObjectsToDraw=1
When this option is '0' (the default) no conversion is applied to charts
pasted into CorelDRAW!. When you set this option to '1' all charts pasted
into CorelDRAW! are converted into CorelDRAW! objects.

Charts printing to more than one page
-------------------------------------
CorelCHART! polls the currently selected printer driver for the maximum
printable page size and then uses this area as the page size in 'Page Setup'.
In some cases CorelCHART! misinterprets the driver information and the page
setup is bigger than it should be. This occurs most often when selecting an
A4 page size. The solution is to set a custom page size using an area smaller
than the page size selected. Users should consult the
documentation that came with their printers for the maximum printable area.

Text will not change in size when a new point size is selected
--------------------------------------------------------------
Axis scales, legend text, row headers and column headers are, by default,
'autofitted' which means that CorelCHART! determines the point size based
on available space. To turn off autofitting, select the text object and
by right clicking on it to bring up its pop-up menu and deselect the 'autofitted'
option.
