NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 2.0
---------------------------

GRAPHICS VIEWERS. Outside In now views, prints, and
launches supported graphics formats. See pp. 191-192 of the
User's Guide for a list of supported formats.

ZIP VIEWER. You can now view the files contained in a zip
file, as well as view, print, copy and launch the
individually zipped files. See Chapter 10 of the User's
Guide.

ENHANCED WORD PROCESSING VIEWERS. The word processing
viewers now support:

TYPEFACE and TYPESIZE: In files created by Windows
word processors, the original typeface and typesize
will be supported if available on the user's system. If
the original fonts are not available, they will be
mapped to the nearest available alternatives. Typesize
will be supported in DOS word processing files where
font information is stored with the file.

LINE and PARAGRAPH SPACING. Line spacing and
interparagraph spacing (e.g., line after) are now
     supported.

DATE, TIME and PAGE CODES. These are now supported for
selected viewers. Consult the table on page 104 of the
User's Guide for more specific information.

FILE MANAGEMENT. You can now copy, move, rename or delete
files in the File List Window. See Chapter 9 of the User's
Guide for more information on this feature.

E-MAIL INTEGRATION. Version 2.0 can be integrated (during
installation) with Microsoft Mail, Da Vinci eMail,
WordPerfect Office for Windows, or cc:Mail. Once
integrated, you can view, print, copy or launch your mail
attachments from these programs. See Chapter 13 of the
User's Guide for more information.

ENHANCED FIND MODE. Outside In in Find Mode now allows you
to save sets of find criteria to separate files, to be
recalled when needed.

ERRATA
------

The User's Guide states that upon installation the AddOn
Manager will be installed to the StartUp group under Windows
3.1, but will be added to the LOAD line of the WIN.INI for
Windows 3.0 users. This is no longer true. The AddOn
Manager will be added to the LOAD line of WIN.INI for both
Windows 3.1 and 3.0. The AddOn Manager will also be
installed as an icon to the same group in which Outside In
has been installed.

The AddOn Manager contains an ON/OFF group not described in
the documentation. Turning the AddOn Manager off will
unload it from memory and disable all integrations.

It is possible to sort the view of Zip files by name, size
or date. To sort a Zip view, choose Options/Display/More.
You will be presented with the Archive Sort Options dialog
box.

NOTE TO LAN USERS
-----------------

The macro files for Ami Pro and WordPerfect/Windows
should be made shareable so that these macros can be
run simultaneously by several users. For WPWin,
these files are OISTART.WCM and SCCOIINS.WCM. For
Ami Pro, these files are OISTART.SMM and SCCAUTO.SMM.

NOTE TO NORTON DESKTOP USERS
----------------------------

When installing to Norton Desktop: If the group to which you
want to install Outside In is open on the desktop when you
initiate the installation program, Outside In will be
installed to whatever group had focus prior to running
install. To solve this problem, after installation move
the icons to the group you want them in, or close the group
in which you want to install Outside In and restart the
installation program.

Norton Desktop users should note the explanation in the
Outside In manual or the help system on how to make
Outside In's viewers the Default viewers in Norton
Desktop.

SPEEDING UP THE COPY COMMAND
----------------------------

Outside In's default settings cause several supported
Clipboard formats to be copied to the Clipboard when the
Copy command is used. The time and memory needed for Copy
can be reduced by selecting only the format(s) your
application(s) requires. See the Options/Document,
Options/Spreadsheet and Options/Database menu commands.

KNOWN PROBLEMS IN OUTSIDE IN 2.0
--------------------------------

If you run the WordPerfect File Manager directly from
the WordPerfect Office Group, without having first run
WordPerfect Mail or WordPerfect for Windows, the
WordPerfect viewers will be used instead of Outside
In's. To make Outside In's viewers active in this
situation, close the WordPerfect viewer window and
reopen it using the View/Viewer menu option (Ctrl-V).

WordPerfect for Windows Support
-------------------------------

Due to WordPerfect's protocols for translating Rich Text
Format, the original font size will not be retained
after pasting if WordPerfect for Windows has been set up
to use the WordPerfect print drivers.

Due to WordPerfect's protocols for translating Rich Text
Format, the import of typeface may select incorrect
fonts. You may wish to disable the import of character
face and set the default face to a value which works for
your environment. This is done within Outside In from
the Options/Clipboard dialog.

When viewing a file from the WordPerfect File Manager,
you may encounter a blank area of the view window when
the file is first viewed. Scrolling the view window
will redisplay the affected area. This is due to a
window update problem in the WordPerfect File Manager.
This problem may also occur when viewing attachments in
WordPerfect Mail.

Clipboard
---------

The default settings for the document, spreadsheet, and
database Clipboard Options are: Text, RTF and AMI PRO 2.0 &
3.0. All other formats will be turned off by default.

For the following applications, the Text option must be
chosen in addition to their proprietary formats in the
Clipboard Options: Legacy, WordStar for Windows,
JustWrite 1.0. If the data is not rendered to the
Clipboard in both formats, these applications will not
recognize the data on the Clipboard.

If no formats are selected in the Clipboard Options, no
text or data will be copied to the Clipboard.

If pasting data into Ami Pro as a table, numbers will
acquire the number format stipulated in the Table style
of your Ami Pro style sheet. If you wish to alter this,
edit your Table style.

Launching
---------

Some applications do not run well under Windows; launching
these programs is not supported in Outside In:

     dBase III
     dBase IV
     Microsoft Excel (Ver 2.10 only)
     MultiMate 4
     MultiMate Advantage II
     Paradox
     Paradox 3.0
     R:Base 3.1
     Samna IV

Some applications do not support loading a file from the DOS
command line. Outside In will launch these programs, but is
not able to load documents for the following applications:

     DataEase 4.2
     DisplayWrite 2,3,4 & 5
     Enable
     First Choice
     Lotus 1-2-3
     Lotus Manuscript
     Lotus Symphony
     Mass-11
     Mosaic Twin
     MultiMate 3.6
     PC File 5.0
     Q&A
     Smartware II
     Volkswriter 3
     VP Planner 3D

The following applications will cause an inactive window to
appear when the application is exited. You should close
this inactive window before returning to Outside In.

     Professional Write 1
     MultiMate 3.6
     PFS:Professional Plan

If you have difficulty launching files created in
applications not found on the lists above, try
running the application independently of Outside In.
You must be able to run a program from Windows in order
to launch the program using Outside In.
