This game is designed with
Recreational Software De-
signs' now 20-year-old Game-
Maker design suite. The en-
gine is buggy and limited,
and uses some weird proprie-
tary formats, but in the
early 1990s it was sort of a
revelation. You could design
256-color VGA games with
fairly complex rules, Sound
Blaster sound, and animation
without the need for pro-
gramming experience. It's
all point-and-click. Indeed
the design tools are still
fairly powerful within their
limited range. BUILDER
serves to illustrate that
there's still some life in
here yet.
