WHATS COMING IN TANKS II

It is final. As soon as Joshua is done with the graphics I'm going to start
working on TANKS II! Some new planned ideas are:
1. loads of new parts for your TANK that you buy in the game.
2. only one player but you will have to fight against the computer.
3. I am even thinking of making it top view scrolling like Warcraft!
4. Test scrolling for instructions and credits.

GETTING THE GAME TO RUN UNDER YOUR SYSTEM
DUE TO THE FACT THAT TANKS USES EXPANDED MEMORY A 386 COMPUTER IS REQUIRED

This game requires EMS memory to run so you will need to run Microsoft's
EMM386.EXE or compatible device driver to provide EMS for the Game.

To due this you will need to Add or Modify this line in your CONFIG.SYS
located in the root directory of your hard disk. C:\

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE <AMOUNT> RAM

Where AMOUNT is the amout of EMS memory. In order to run the game set it to
1000. If it is higher just leave it alone as it will provide more than enough
memory.

ERROR MESSAGES AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT THEM
If your getting messages in the top corner of the game than this is the right
section for you. Just lock up the right error message and it will tell you
what to do.

386 or better CPU not found

As I explained earlier this game requires a 386 or better. There is no
way to get around this error besides getting a new computer. What are
     you doing with a 88 or 286 anyway? (I don't know)

No EMM driver detected

Refer to the previous section for help on this error.

Not enough free base memory or some message about memory other than EMS

     MS-DOS users:
     1. When you see the message Starting MS-DOS press F8
     2. Press Y to the following only the others that you may have press N

SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T6 (or if it looks something like that)
        MOUSE

you will have to read your WINDOWS or MS-DOS manual and read the
        section FREEING UP MEMORY

HOW DO I USE THE LEVEL EDITOR

Either Use ESC or click the right mouse button to bring up the menu. Pick the
type of building/water you want and make your level. You can use up to 50 of
each item.

Once finished your level you will want to save it

Hint: Use the Mouse Co-Orditates located in the bottom left corner of the
screen

Suggested ways to SAVE:
 1. Bring up the Menu
 2. Click Save
Type in a short filename for the level. You can have a max of 8 characters.
Once you picked a name type a 1 after it and then for
level 2 type in 2, ect.
   example:
   Lev1
   Lev2
   Lev3
If you don't do it this way when it comes time to compile it will be much
more difficult to do because you will have to remember all your file names.

Suggested ways to MAKE:(compile)
 1. Bring up the Menu
 2. Click Make
If you followed the suggested ways for saving this is easy, (just takes
   forever).
Type in the number of areas
   Type in the world name
Now just type in all the levels
    Eg.
    Lev1
    Lev2
    Lev3
and continue to however may you have saved
   Now your done.
Don't worry you do not have to make 99 levels
Now you go to TANKS...OPTIONS and type in your Extrenal World name and
   play your level!
