1.1 About Deluxe Ski Jump

Deluxe Ski Jump is a new generation Ski Jumping Simulation in full
3D graphics. Thanks to precisely modelled real-world physics the realism
is one of the highest ever seen in sports games. Virtually you cannot get
any closer to the ski jumping experience without actually climbing
   to the hill!

Intuitive mouse interface gives you the full control over the real-time
animated ski jumper. You can balance your take off, set the body angles
for flying, take benefit of the winds and finally make a perfect landing
   to please the judges.

The hills vary from tiny K50 hill to HUGE K250 ski flying hill!
In the Grand Hill you can try to make the world's longest jump ever!
Notice: The demo version supports K105 and K170 hills.

You can also challenge all your friends and have big tournaments as
DSJ supports (Registered version only) up to 16 players simultaneously.
The whole or even doubled world cup with full line-up of 16 players is
   something extremely fun!

   ...

Feel the air resistance, hear the wind and let your eyes rest on beatiful
landscapes. Before you will even notice it you are wrapped up into the

3. Ski Jumping Guide

3.1 Introduction to Ski Jumping

3.1A Main Idea

The main idea of ski jumping is to jump as long as possible and to get
the highest possible style points from the judges.

3.1B Length Points

Each hill has a K-point (critical point) which is marked with a red line.
The K-point is worth 60 points (120 points in a ski flying hill).
Each meter above the K-point gives extra points (2.0 points in the small
hill, 1.8 points in the big hill and 1.2 points in the ski flying hill).
If the length is below K-point the points will correspondingly be reduced.

3.1C Style Points

The judges evaluate the style for each jump. They give scores from
minimum of 0.0 Points to maximum of 20.0 Points. The style points
depend on the style of take-off, flying and landing. To get the highest
Style Points the take-off must be well-balanced, the flying stable and
the landing must be a steady telemark landing.

The lowest and the highest of the five style points will be ignored.

3.1D Counting Total Points (example)

   Hill : K120
Length of the jump: 123.5 meters

   Length points : 60.0 + 3.5 * 1.8 = 66.3
   Style Points : (18.5) 19.0 19.0 (19.5) 19.5 = 57.5
   Ignored SPs : Lowest Highest
   Total Points : 66.3 + 57.5 = 123.8 Points

3.1E Ski Jumping Competition

The Ski Jumping competition has two rounds. The first round is jumped
in the order of world cup positions, so that the leader jumps last.
The Second round is jumped in the reversed order of first round's
   results.

The winner of competition is the ski jumper whose total score is highest.

3.1F World Cup Scoring

In each competition ski jumpers score World Cup Points as shown below:

        Pos: Score: Pos: Score:

          1. 100 PTS 9. 29 PTS
          2. 80 PTS 10. 26 PTS
          3. 60 PTS 11. 24 PTS
          4. 50 PTS 12. 22 PTS
          5. 45 PTS 13. 20 PTS
          6. 40 PTS 14. 18 PTS
          7. 36 PTS 15. 16 PTS
          8. 32 PTS 16. 15 PTS

The winner of World Cup is the ski jumper whose total score is highest
at the end of the season.

3.1G Team Cup

In the team cup competion each team has four ski jumpers. The ski jumpers
jump twice and the team score is the sum of personal scores.

The winner of competition is the team whose total score is highest.

3.1H Team Cup Scoring

In each competition teams score Team Cup Points as shown below:

        Pos: Score:

          1. 200 PTS
          2. 160 PTS
          3. 120 PTS
          4. 100 PTS

The winner of Team Cup is the team whose total score is highest
at the end of the season.

3.2C Flying:

   Hints:
Maintain the horizontal speed and try to keep your altitude.

start your jump. The red light starts blinking when you have ten
seconds left. If you exceed the time limit you will be disqualified.

3.5 The Wind Meter

The wind meter indicates the direction and the speed of the wind.
The speed is given in meters per second. The optimal wind condition is
   usully a headwind (1.5 - 3.5 m/s) but it differs a little between
   the hills and jumping styles.
