512K SVGA graphic card with 640 x 480 256 colour mode and your
card has this ability then it is probably that something in the

Go to windows Explorer and right click on FM99 file

A box should appear with the menu option Properties select this.

Now click on the index card SCREEN.

In the USAGE box at the top of the screen make sure the box
FULL-SCREEN is checked (Has a 'x' in it).

Click on OK to save your change and this box will disappear.

SOUND PROBLEMS
==============
The sound drivers used by this game might conflict with other
installed interrupts. If 'anything unusual' happens while running
the game try restarting the game after reseting your computer
and switch OFF the match sound effects. If this stops unusual
side effects the sound card is conflicting with your mouse
driver and you have to change the mouse driver software or
disable the sound effects when playing the game. To ensure no
sound effects are used by the game you can do the following:-

DOS USERS
---------
To run the game type FM99 instead of FM
followed by the ENTER key.

WINDOWS 95 USERS
----------------
Go to windows Explorer and right click on FM99 file !!(NOT FM99.exe)!!

A box should appear with the menu option Properties select this.

Now click on the index card PROGRAM.

Now change the entry on Cmd line: from STKRUN.EXE FM99.EXE to
FM99.EXE

If you also have display problems as described above then you will
have to change this to FM99.EXE 1

Click on OK to save your change and this box will disappear.

Thereafter the program will be launched without the sound conflicting
sound feature.

If the situation is worse then undo what you have just done in the
properties box.

DOS USERS

You must install your Mouse Driver software.

This should only appear while attempting to run the game from
the DOS prompt after Win95 has been shut down. This message will

Mouse Driver software for the DOS mode. Just install your mouse

it is likely you have to reset your computer before this will
modification take effect.

GRAPHIC SPEED DELAYS
====================
Due to the hard disk space required for all badge and large
kit graphics only the most vital files have been copied to your
hard disk by the automated setup or installation routine. If
you experience an uncomfortable delay when Football Masters
accessing screens which rely heavily on some of these files
like arrange friendlies then we suggest that you copy all
these files to your hard disk.

DOS USERS
---------
With the Football Masters in your CD Drive d: type the
following:-

COPY d:\badges\*.* c:\games\FM99

where c:\games\FM99 is the directory where the game has been
installed.

WINDOWS 95 USERS
----------------
Use the windows explorer to perform the same as above.

How to Install Kits and other stuff if you find it necessary
------------------------------------------------------------
If you find the main menu slow in accessing the large Kit
design files for European matches you can perform the above
task replacing 'badges' with 'kits'

Likewise if you use the real results frequently the 'stats'
folder can be copied replacing 'badges' for 'stats'

Just in case you're interested you can also do this for
'stadiums' (backgrounds) 'photos' (of players) and 'winners'
(celebrations).

We do not recommend copying 'careers' (real stats on players)
there are currently far too many small files which may use a
significant amount of space on some Hard Disks.

MOUSE FREEZE AT HALF TIME MATCH
===============================
So far, this is the only 'anything unusual' item that we have
seen occur and the solution is to disabled Sound effects which
is detailed above.
