Installation
------------
* Under Windows 95, the setup program will begin automatically.
* To install under Windows 3.1, run 'setup' from the game CD.
* To install from DOS, run 'install' from the game CD.

* The recommeded minimum memory is 8 Mb. The preferred is 16 Mb.
* If your computer has 8 Mb or less then you must play the Low
  detail game and you should play the game from within Windows.

* The installation requires approx 650 Kb of hard drive space.
  Playing the game under DOS may require up to 12 Mb of hard
  drive space for a virtual memory swap file.

----------------
Running the game
----------------
* Under Windows 95 or 3.1, double click on the milo game icon.
* From DOS, go to the game directory (c:\milo) and run 'milo'.
* Do not try to run the game from the CD.

* You must have the following lines in your 'config.sys':
    device = himem.sys
    device = emm386.exe noems

* If you have only 8Mb of memory then you may need to disable
  disk cacheing. Disk caching is enabled in the 'autoexec.bat' by:
    smartdrv.exe
  It can be disabled by adding 'rem' to the beginning of the line:
    rem smartdrv.exe

* For the best results under DOS 6.x or Windows 3.1 you can configure
  your system using 'Memmaker'.

-----------------
Starting the game
-----------------
* 'Start Game' takes you to the levels screen. To begin with
  only the first level can be played. The next levels will be
  unlocked as you complete each level.

* 'Options' customises the keys for playing the game and adjusts
  the sound volume and joystick movement. To change an option,
  press Tab to highlight the option and then press Enter to select
  it. After changing the option, press Enter again to set it.

* To calibrate the joystick:
	1. Select 'Joystick' from the options menu.
	2. Slowly move the joystick around in a full circle a number of times,
	   making sure the joystick moves as far forward, backward, left and
	   right as possible.
	3. Return the joystick to its centre position. The position indicators
	   should now be centred. If they are not then you may need to adjust
	   any trim controls present on your joystick to fine tune the centring.
	4. Press the joystick button to complete the calibration process.

* Hitting Esc at any time will take you back to the menu.
* 'Quit' takes you out of the game.

  its centre. Calibration can be carried out in the game options.

--------
Problems
--------
* If you cannot run the game under DOS, it may be because you do
  not have enough memory. You need at least 7.6Mb of free memory to
  run the game. It is recommended to run the game under Windows.

* You must have the following lines in your 'config.sys':
    device = himem.sys
    device = emm386.exe noems

* If you have only 8Mb of memory then you may need to disable
  disk cacheing. Disk caching is enabled in the 'autoexec.bat' by:
    smartdrv.exe
  It can be disabled by adding 'rem' to the beginning of the line:
    rem smartdrv.exe

* If you have any unusual drivers in your 'config.sys' then it is
  best to disable them.

* For the best results under DOS 6.x or Windows 3.1 you can configure
  your system using 'Memmaker'.

* The sound will only work with Sound Baster compatible sound
  cards.

* If the game locks up or crashes when starting:
  - run 'setsound' to disable the sound blaster autodetection
  - use 'SET BLASTER=Axxx Ix Dx' in your 'autoexec.bat' to set
    up the sound blaster port address, interrupt request and
    dma channel.

* If the game still does not run then use 'setsound' to disable
  the sound and music.

* Enabling the joystick may cause the game to lock up on some hardware.
  The joystick must be calibrated to find the centre position.

* The Low detail version of the game may crash unexpectedly.
  Under DOS it uses its own virtual memory manager which is not
  as stable as Windows. It is recommended the game run under Windows.
  The High detail version requires at least 12 Mb of memory.

* Using a Windows 95 keyboard, accidentally pressing the Windows 95
  button can cause problems. This can be avoided by changing the special
  function keys for the game. It can also be solved using a utility which
  can be downloaded from
    "http://www.microsoft.com/windows/software/krnltoy.htm"

* The game may not perform well on slow computers.

------------
Uninstalling
------------
* Under Windows 95 you can remove the game by inserting the game
  CD and choosing to uninstall the game.

* Under Windows 3.1 you need to run 'setup.exe' from the CD and
  then choose to uninstall the game.
