GNB5 v.1.0

                    --------------------------------

Welcome to the final chapter in the Great Naval battles series,
DEMISE OF THE DREADNAUGHTS. The goal of the Great Naval Battle
games from the start was to provide a complete experience of naval
warfare in the age of the big guns. For the first time, this
package brings together this concept - from WWI through WWII,
covering all theaters of action.

SSI's continuing commitment to naval warfare simulation does not
stop with the end of the GNB series. The current Silent Hunter
(demo available on Disc 1) represents a glimpse into this future.
Over the next few years, SSI and the creators of the GNB games
will bring new naval role-playing / simulation games to light,
covering everything from pirates to PT boats.

As you enjoy Demise of the Dreadnaughts and the other GNB games,
sleep well knowing that new games are right around the bay. Make
sure to check out our website at WWW.SSIONLINE.COM for the latest
information, demos, and news about our products.

Miscellaneous Bits / Game
---------------------------------------------
For increased game performance and speed, leave off range circles
and other peripheral filters.

When you select "smoke" for your task force, you will not see a
graphical representation of the smoke (it slows down the game), but
the effects do take place.

Miscellaneous Bits / Editor
---------------------------------------------

If you build an invasion task force in the scenario editor and hope
for it to set out and capture an enemy base, you must place your
troops on transports and place them in the water rather than at the
docks. Troops have a tendency to protect their home bases unless
forced to choose other options.

If you create a scenario with more than 50 ships per side, the
game engine many overload and crash, depending on your system
configuration. To prevent this from happening don't create
scenarios with more than 50 ships per side.

Scenarios are listed within the game by any description given them.
Before saving a scenario you create using the editor, write a brief
description in the Scenario Description screen.
