HOW TO CREATE A BOOT DISC FOR USE WITH MS-DOS 5.0

COMPRESSION AND COMPRESSED HARD DRIVES

These instructions contain no commands to use a compressed hard drive.
A lot of our programs are compatible with Stacker 3.x and 4.x but,
through experience, may not work correctly on a drive compressed by
SuperStor 2.0, SuperStor Pro, Doubledisk or Xtradrive. If you wish
to use a compressed hard drive we cannot guarantee the program will
run correctly, if at all. Please consult your compression utility
manual to find out which command line(s) needs to be inserted into
either the CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files before making the disc.

MOUSE DRIVERS
MicroProse games are written to use a Microsoft mouse driver. If you
experience mouse related difficulties or memory/game problems please
make sure you have loaded a Microsoft driver, v8.20 or higher, this
is supplied on this disc. Please consult your MS-DOS manual if you are
unsure about updating this driver or contact Microsoft Support.

1.      Place an unformatted High Density disc in drive A: and type;
			FORMAT A: /S <return>

2.      Now type,
			EDIT A:\CONFIG.SYS <return>

3. The CONFIG.SYS will need to consist of the following lines,
		device=c:\dos\himem.sys
		dos=high,umb
		device=c:\dos\emm386.exe  1024  ram  frame=e000  i=ce00-efff
		files=30
		buffers=30
		stacks=0,0

	If you have Windows 3.1, then use the path c:\windows\ instead of
	c:\dos\

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have an IBM PS/1 or PS/2 or a Packard Bell PC or the above line
produces an error, then use this alternative line instead;
		device=c:\dos\emm386.exe  1024  ram

4. Exit the editor (press ALT, then F, then X) and answer yes, to
	save file.

5.      Now type,
			EDIT A:\AUTOEXEC.BAT <return>

6. The AUTOEXEC.BAT will need to consist of the following lines,
			prompt  $p$g
			path=c:\dos;
			loadhigh c:\<path>\mouse.com
			c:
			mem/c

	Replace <path> with the name of the directory where MOUSE.COM can
	be found.

7. Exit the editor and answer yes, to save file.

8. The bootdisc is now ready. Leave it in drive A: and reboot the
	computer.
