          AREA 4-THE POLAR PARK

  To leave the Polar Park at any
  time, click on the TRAIN sign
  to return to the train, or CTRL-Q
  to quit.

  MAIN AREA. When you arrive at any
  area, the first place you'll see
  is the main area. Here you can
  always play Ping and Kooky's
  favorite games: Cuckoo Zoo Who's
  Who and Kooky's Animal Mix-Ups.
  In each area you can play with
  different animals.

  CUCKOO ZOO WHO'S WHO. This game
  teaches animal names and sounds
  in written, spoken, and spelled
  formats. Different levels provide
  practice in recognizing animals,
  matching animal pictures, and
  letter and name recognition.

  EASY: Click on any animal to
  learn its name, hear its voice,
  and see it do a trick.

  MEDIUM: Ping Panda shows you an
  animal and asks you to find it.
  Click on the animal to learn its
  name, hear its voice, and see it
  do a trick. Ping says the
  animal's name, and tells you what
  letter it starts with. HARD: Ping
  Panda asks you to find an animal.
  Click on the animal to hear its
  voice and see it do a trick. Ping
  says the animal's name, then spells
  it for you.

  Note: To adjust Cuckoo Zoo game
  levels, press CTRL-L.

  KOOKY'S ANIMAL MIX-UPS. In this
  activity, children use
  classifying, comparing, matching,
  and analyzing skills to restore
  mixed-up animals to their normal
  appearances. To play Kooky's
  game, click on Kooky.

  EASY: Kooky Cuckoo has mixed up
  three animals. Look closely: they
  might have the wrong tail, the
  wrong body, the wrong color, or
  even the wrong head! To fix
  each mixed-up animal, click on
  the correct item from the thought
  balloon above Ping's head. If
  you click on the wrong tail,
  you'll hear a funny sound, and
  Ping will ask you to try again.
  Keep trying until you find the
  right one!

  MEDIUM: Kooky Cuckoo has mixed
  up four animals. Ping will help
  you fix them. (See instructions
  under Easy.)

  HARD: Kooky Cuckoo has mixed up
  all the animals.  Ping will help
  you fix them. (See instructions
  under Easy.) To play more games,
  click on the game area sign.

  GAME AREA. WALTER WALRUS'S FISH
  DINNER GAME. This activity
  reinforces counting and simple
  addition. 

  EASY: How many fish did
  Walter Walrus order for dinner?
  To find the right number, count
  the fish and read the number
  above Walter's head. To help Ping
  Panda catch the fish for Walter's
  dinner, click on the fish in the
  water. When you have caught
  enough fish, Pierre Penguin
  delivers them to Walter's table!

  MEDIUM: Walter asks for
  multiples of 5 fish (5, 10, 15,
  20). Click on Pierre when you
  think you've caught enough fish.

  HARD: After you've caught
  Walter's dinner (see Easy, above),
  he shows you a number problem.
  Click on Pierre when you think
  you've caught enough fish.
  Walter's number problem shows how
  many fish you caught for him and
  how many fish he now has.

  To go back to the main area,
  click on the Polar Park sign.

  SCREEN OPTIONS. At each screen in
  each zoo area, you can access the
  Cuckoo Zoo Map, the Options Menu,
  or board the Cuckoo Zoo Train. To
  see the Cuckoo Zoo Map, click on
  the MAP SIGN. To get help or
  change options, click on the PING
  sign. To go back to the Cuckoo Zoo
  Train, click on the TRAIN sign.

  ADJUSTING GAME LEVELS: Each game
  in the Cuckoo Zoo has two to
  three levels of play:
  Easy, Medium, and Hard. To adjust
  Cuckoo Zoo game levels, press
  CTRL-L.

  OPTIONS MENU. To bring up the
  Options Menu, click on the PING
  sign or press CTRL-O. Choose one
  of the following options. For
  HELP, press CTRL-H. To select
  GAME LEVEL, press CTRL-L, then
  choose Easy, Medium, or Hard. To
  turn SOUND ON or OFF, press CTRL
  -S. To learn more ABOUT CUCKOO
  ZOO, press CTRL-A. To QUIT the
  Game, press CTRL-Q. To return to
  the game, click the mouse
  anywhere on the screen.

  QUITTING THE GAME. To quit the
  game, press CTRL-Q on your
  keyboard. Click YES to quit.
  Click NO to return to the game.
