1. Corrections
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, I need to make two corrections to the "The Spoilers" section of
Revision 8.00 of the Spoilers which has already been distributed.

A) It has been pointed out to me that a new numbering system has been adopted
for Nethack version 3.1. Patches are denoted by adding a period and the
patch number to 3.1 instead of a letter. Letters infer a non-official patch.
Thus, the first paragraph should read as follows:

The information contained in this file is relevant to Nethack version 3.1.1
(i.e. Nethack version 3.1, patch level 1), the most recent version of Nethack
available at the time this file was posted. Although much of the information
contained within the Spoilers is also relevant to previous versions of
Nethack, don't depend on it. Our suggestion is that you get a copy of the
latest and greatest version of Nethack - version 3.1.1.

B) It has also been pointed out that there is no longer a HARD option. I had
assumed that it was still there (forgive me for not reading through all the
.include files <GRIN>). Thus, the second paragraph should read as follows:

Additionally, for the sake of simplicity we have assumed that all the compile
options are at their default settings unless otherwise specified. This means
that all the optional code is compiled in, etc.

2. Revision 8.00 Distribution
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just to make sure that everything's clear about what's happening with
Revision 8.00 of the WCST Nethack Spoilers, here's the scoop:

A) Revision 8.00 is not yet finished, nor is the commercial version of
Revision 8.00 yet available.

B) Parts of Revision 8.00 are finished, and I am releasing those (pent up
demand and all that). As I finish additional sections, they will also be
released. All releases will be both by e-mail to the WCST e-mailing list and
by post to rec.games.hack.

C) The Table of Contents has already been distributed, showing how the pieces
fit together. It will periodically be included with segments.

D) All distributions are governed by the WCST Nethack Spoiler License
Agreement. If you would like a copy of the full text of the license
agreement, please send me e-mail.

E) When Revision 8.00 is complete, it will be posted in its entirety to
rec.games.hack and comp.sources.games, as well as CompuServe and several ftp
sites. The commercial version will become available at that time.

F) At that point, I will take a couple days off, and then delve into the WCST
Nethack Bestiary. (There's so much information in Revision 8.00 that I'm
taking the monster information out and putting it into a separate volume.)

3. WCST E-mailing list
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people have asked to be added to the WCST e-mailing list (in fact, I've
been getting 10-15 messages a day - pretty cool). If you'd like to be put on
the WCST e-mailing list, please send e-mail to the following address:

          water@wheaton.wheaton.edu

My postal mailing address is as follows:
