There passes before the eyes of any literate person each day a great
quantity of print from a great variety of sources, and though some
may give thought to the meaning of the words, few give any thought to
the nature of the letters. I recommend to all a study of the form as much
as the content, for the former has often taught me more than the latter, 
and I have more than once found greater distinction between the characters
of print faces than I have between the arguments of authors.
