Music Hall, or to a Gilbert & Sullivan, but Holmes made up for it by
an excellent dinner beforehand at Marcini's. so I slept through most
of the programme. Of course, I was well-prepared with the critic's
views when I discussed the performances with my new partner in
life, it being important to bring experience to any partnership from
both sides, as Holmes and I did when working together.
With this in mind, I have been reading much of late, and greatly
interested in Stevenson's "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde", an attempt at a
"scientific" movel which is based I believe, on a real case with
which Holmes himself had some dealings a few years back. I do
find Stevenson's "Kidnapped" quite as good and full of much
