Dear Fellow PC Enthusiasts:

Welcome to issue #68 of On Disk Monthly! I'm sure you're
going to love this issue because it's chock-full of great
programs that you and your family will enjoy using again
and again...even when longer, sunny days threaten to pull
you away from your computers.

Some of you, especially those of you who are new
subscribers or who prefer things to remain somewhat static,
might be a little mystified by the fact that this issue's
menu system has changed...again. Actually, it is only
slightly different from last month's menu system, but last
month's menu system (on issue #67) was a radical departure
from the one on issue #66. Whew! Translation: the last three
menu systems have all been different.

We want you to think of these changes, and the changes that
you'll see in subsequent issues, as an on-going revision
process with one major purpose--to create a better, more
useful subscription software product. Keep those letters and
Report Cards coming. We're really interested in what you
have to say and we plan to act on it!

Finally, here are some responses to recent suggestions or
queries:

* You asked for a printable table of contents and user
guide. You've got it. See the "Contents & User Guide"
under Departments. This section, and the ability to print
it, was also included on issue #67.

* Our new, expanded content mix is designed to provide
something of interest to every subscriber--no matter how
specialized your interests might be. If we haven't yet
done your "to die for" program, or you just want a bigger,
better version of something we've published before, then
tell us what "it" is. If enough people want something
similar or we think it's a great idea, we'll do it!

* Many of you have complained about the number of
anti-piracy/"this is not shareware" messages you
encounter while running On Disk Monthly. In addition to
the anti-piracy message built into the On Disk Monthly
menu system, an anti-piracy message is attached to each
program. Unfortunately, this is necessary because our
programs can be copied away from our menu system and
might be distributed as shareware, or even freeware, if
not for the anti-piracy messages. Some of our programs
have even been copied onto bulletin boards for free
distribution. Conscientious bulletin board managers have
quickly notified us and removed them. Thankfully, there
are also a lot of conscientious computer users just like
you. Sadly, there are a few who aren't.

Let us know how you like each issue by mailing in your
Report Cards. Until next month...happy computing!
