INSTALLATION
------------

The Operation: Fighting Tiger install program will update all
versions of Falcon 3.0 (a, c or d) to version 3.01 and will add the
new Operation: Fighting Tiger theaters.

Operation: Fighting Tiger must be installed into a directory
containing Falcon 3.0. The install program will search your hard
drive for your Falcon 3.0 directory by looking for the file
FALCON3.EXE. Before installing, be sure that you have at least 3MB of
free disk space on your hard drive. Type CHKDSK to find out how much
free disk space you have. The command will list several facts about
your disk drive. The important line is the one which reads

        "3145728 bytes available on disk."

The number of bytes available must be greater than 3145728 for the
installation to work successfully.

If you have more than one copy of Falcon 3.0 installed, be sure that
the install program has found the directory you want updated. If
not, you can either press CTRL-D and search the same drive to find
the next Falcon 3.0 directory or enter the path to the proper
directory manually.

If you have a backup copy of the file "FALCON3.EXE" in another
directory, the install program might mistake that directory for your
Falcon 3.0 directory. The installation will abort if you try to
install Operation: Fighting Tiger to a directory containing only
the file FALCON3.EXE, so be sure that the directory listed by the
install program is correct before continuing the installation.

Note: Squadrons created by earlier versions of Falcon 3.0 will not
work with Falcon 3.01 and will be deleted during the installation.
If you have a campaign in progress that you want to complete, do not
install Operation: Fighting Tiger until the campaign is over.

INSTALLATION PROBLEMS
---------------------

"Invalid drive"
You will get this message if you try to select a drive
which doesn't exist or you try to install to a floppy
drive. Note that if the directory path is missing the colon
or the backslash after the drive letter, the install program
will also give you this error message. Either type in the
correct path, including drive letter, or use CTRL-D to select
        a valid drive.

"Invalid Directory, Falcon 3.0 files not found"
The install program will check the selected directory for
the file "FALCON3.EXE" to make sure that Operation: Fighting
Tiger is installed to the correct directory. Double-check the
drive and directory path displayed by the install program to
verify that it is your Falcon 3.0 directory. If the
FALCON3.EXE file has been deleted, you will have to re-install
Falcon 3.0 before installing Operation: Fighting Tiger.

"Falcon 3.0 not found"
The install program searches drive C: automatically. If your
copy of Falcon 3.0 is installed on a different drive, then
use the "CTRL-D -- search a different drive" function to find a
Falcon 3.0 directory on a different drive. You can also type
in the path directly (but remember the ":\" after the drive
        letter).

"Error. Copy failed, cannot continue"
This error can occur if you try to install Operation: Fighting
Tiger to a directory which doesn't contain a valid copy of
Falcon 3.0. If you get this message, double-check that the
directory path and drive letter are correct.

"Disk space not available"
Installing Operation: Fighting Tiger requires 3MB of free
disk space. If you do not have enough hard disk space, then
you will have to delete unneeded files to create more space.
You can use the CHKDSK command to find out how much
free disk space you have (see the discussion of CHKDSK above).

Accidental interruption...
If the installation is accidentally interrupted, your dog
chews through the cord to your computer or the power fails,
the install program should normally be able to pick up where
it left off. Just rerun the install program and select the same
directory. If the interrupted install doesn't work, however,
you will have to re-install Falcon 3.0 from your original
disks before installing Operation: Fighting Tiger.

Installation failed...
The installation can fail because of an error on your hard
drive, a variety of DOS errors, files missing from your
Falcon 3.0 directory or corrupt files in your Falcon 3.0
        directory.

Disk error -- use a disk recovery program such as Norton Disk
Doctor to repair the problem, and then re-install both Falcon
        3.0 and Operation: Fighting Tiger.

DOS error -- Try booting your system with a boot disk created
according to the instructions in the Troubleshooting section
of the Release Notes and Communications Handbook which came
with your original Falcon 3.0 package. (Make sure that FILES=30
and BUFFERS=30 are in your CONFIG.SYS file.)

Missing or corrupt files -- Delete all files from your Falcon
3.0 directory (including subdirectories), and then re-install
Falcon 3.0 and Operation: Fighting Tiger.

PLAYING OPERATION: FIGHTING TIGER
---------------------------------
After installing Operation: Fighting Tiger, type "FALCON3".

You will find the new theaters right alongside the original theaters
in the War Room. Use the Theater button to assign a squadron to one
of the new theaters. The tactical environment of Operation: Fighting
Tiger is significantly different than that of the original Falcon 3.0
theaters. Be sure to read the Operation: Fighting Tiger flight manual
to learn about the new weapons, missions and other challenges which
have been added to the game.

IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING ENOUGH FREE MEMORY...
-------------------------------------------------------
Version 3.01 uses slightly more memory (602K) than the earlier versions
of Falcon 3.0. For some helpful hints on finding more memory, please
consult the Troubleshooting section of the Release Notes and
Communications Handbook which came with your original Falcon 3.0 package
if you have difficulty running Falcon 3.01.

MANUAL ADDENDUM
---------------

Pg. 7 -- Parts List

If you have purchased the 3.5" version of Operation: Fighting
Tiger, you should find one 1.44MB disk and one 720K disk
(not two 1.44MB disks) in the package.

In addition, you should also find a Disk Exchange Coupon for
exchanging 5.25" disks for 3.5" disks or vice versa.

Pg. 9 -- More weather

The overcast cloud layer will appear when the weather report
or forecast lists the weather as "OVERCAST" not "CLOUDY."
(Remember that weather reporting is not an exact science.)

Pg. 75 -- Rules of Engagement: Violations and consequences

Violating the rules of engagement may make subsequent
missions more difficult because the enemy will become more
        aggressive.

Pg. 83 -- Ground Strike

The mission title "Ground Strike" is missing from the top
        of the page.

Pg. 98 -- Using the Harpoon missile and SEA radar

Ship targets can be identified in two ways:

        1. The radar return of a surface vessel is displayed on the
REO as a green blip with one of three intensities: bright
green, medium-bright green or dim green. The intensity of the
return relates to the displacement of the ship. Refer to the
Reference Section of the Operation: Fighting Tiger manual to
determine the displacement of the assigned target ship.

        2. View the formation of the enemy ships using the Map zoom
function on the Mission Planning screens. The formation will
not change significantly during the mission.

The position of friendly ships is marked on the campaign
maps with a blue icon. Enemy ships are marked with red icons.
On missions, you will never find a friendly ship anywhere
near an enemy task force, so identifying ships as friendly or
hostile should not be a problem.

Pg. 118 -- SA-2 Guideline

The SA-4 will not appear in Operation: Fighting Tiger.
Instead, the SA-2 has been deployed in the permanent SAM
sites. Check the Report Screen in the game for the performance
        specifications of the SA-2.
