                          Ver 1.0 Release Notes

I. JOYSTICK CALIBRATION

It is absolutely essential that you calibrate your joystick
the first time you play the game. Joystick calibration values
vary from computer to computer, and if the joystick is not
calibrated individually, it may not operate properly. The result
will be reduced flight performance of the aircraft you fly!

You should calibrate your joystick once after installing Aces of
the Pacific. It is not necessary to calibrate it every time
you play. However, we recommend that you recalibrate
      periodically (about once a week).

II. FLIGHT MODEL NOTES

  Top speeds

As discussed in the manual, the top speeds of each aircraft vary
with altitude. This is modelled fully in Aces of the Pacific.
Some aircraft are fastest at high altitude (like the P-51), and
some perform better at a lower altitude. In addition, some
aircraft will be less maneuverable at higher altitudes. This
will manifest in lower roll and turn rates.

  Range

The ranges listed in the manual are those supplied by the
manufacturer. These ranges were based on flight tests of the
aircraft under optimal conditions with skilled test pilots flying
stripped down versions of the aircraft. The ranges that are
listed on the Preflight screen in Aces of the Pacific are lower
than those in the manual, and properly reflect the true ranges
      of these aircraft in combat.

III. ERRATA AND ADDENDUM

      A. Page 192: Training -- To obtain unlimited ammo in the
Training missions, the Realism Panel must have the
          Limited Ammunition option turned off.

      B. Page 201: Flight Plan -- Autopilot will guide the player only
along the pre-determined flight plan. Specifying an alternate
location by pressing the D key is not available.

      C. Page 213: Limited Fuel -- On all Fly Single Missions, the
player will automatically have unlimited fuel. The Limited
Fuel option will remain off on the Realism Panel, and will
be indicated by a solid color in the Limited Fuel box. The
player will have the option of turning the Limited Fuel
option on or off in Career missions.

      D. Page 218: VCR Playback -- If the pause feature was accessed
during the original mission recording, the mission may not
play back exactly as it was originally played.
