Didn't I make a tape of the final game of the World Series? Don't I have
a copy of "Citizen Kane?" Fret no more! VIDEO TAPE LIBRARIAN is a database
designed to organize and catalogue all of your video tapes. Recorded events
can be stored in six different categories: Movies, Television, Sports, Music,
 Personal, and Miscellaneous.

The MAIN MENU contains the following choices:

Load - Name a disk file of video tapes.
           Add - Add new tapes.
Browse - Examine the list of tapes and make changes.
Search - Search for tapes by title, category, actor, etc.
Print - Print a catalog of tapes.
Exit - Leave the VIDEO TAPE LIBRARIAN to Big Blue Disk MAIN MENU.

To make a selection, move the highlight bar to the desired option or
type the first letter of the menu option and press <ENTER>.

***PLEASE SEE THE NOTE IN TECHNICAL DETAILS***

^CGetting Started

Select "Load" from the MAIN MENU. Type in a filename at the flashing
cursor. For example, to list all your videos in a file called MYTAPES, type
MYTAPES and press <ENTER>. A filename may have up to eight characters.

NOTE: The next time you use VIDEO TAPE LIBRARIAN, all the filenames,
such as MYTAPES, you have created are displayed. The <UP> and <DOWN> Arrow
Keys highlight these filenames. Press <ENTER> to select a file.

Select "Add" from the MAIN MENU. At the bottom of the screen are six
categories: Movies, Television, Music, Sports, Personal, and Miscellaneous.
Always select the appropriate category first. Choose a category with the
<LEFT> and <RIGHT> Arrow Keys and press <ENTER>. Each category has a unique
information screen. Use the <UP> and <DOWN> Arrow Keys to move the cursor
within an information screen. Fill in the blanks and select <F4> to save the
 information to the file.

^CFeatures

Select "Browse" from the MAIN MENU. Highlight the category of tapes you
want to browse (or ALL categories) with the <LEFT> and <RIGHT> Arrow Keys.
Press <ENTER>. The first tape from that category will be displayed.

The options available in Browse and Search mode are:

     Update - Edit the information.
Delete - Remove tape from file.
Label - Print a label for selected tape.
Next - Display the next tape <PgDn>.
Previous - Display the tape before selected tape <PgUp>.
       Help - Display help screens.
       Exit - Exit "Browse" mode.

To activate an option, use the <LEFT> and <RIGHT> Arrow Keys to highlight
the options located at the bottom of the screen and press <ENTER> or type the
first letter (<D> for "Delete"). For example, to browse through a category,
keep pressing <N> - Next selection.

Select "Search" from the MAIN MENU. Choose a category. A Search Box is
displayed containing a blank and five or six different search parameters. On
the blank line, type in the search text (word or words) and press <ENTER>.
Next, move the cursor to the first desired field with the Arrow Keys. A
desired field is a part of the tape entry that might contain the words. Press
<SPACEBAR> to mark the field. A checkmark will appear. Select <F6> to
 search.

For example, after selecting the MOVIE category, type "ANIMAL" in the
blank line and check "Title" as the desired field with the <SPACEBAR>. If
you have an extensive collection, the search might yield "Animal House,"
"Animal Farm," or "Animal Kingdom." VIDEO TAPE LIBRARIAN selects all tapes
catalogued under "Movies" with "Animal" in the title and places them in an
 area to be browsed.

Special Feature: Select "Browse" from the MAIN MENU and select a
category. When a tape is displayed, press <F7>. The contents for that tape-
id are listed, possibly several different entries in the catalogue. For
example, tape-id jd10 may include footage from J.D.'s piano recital as well as
some from his last soccer game. Highlight one entry and press <ENTER>. The
information screen for that entry will display.

Select "Print" from the MAIN MENU. The Report Selection Screen shows the
options available for a catalogue of your tapes. Use the Arrow Keys to move
to the selected option for Report Type, press <SPACEBAR> to mark the option.
Move to the desired Level of Detail, press <SPACEBAR> to select. Press
<ENTER> to build and print report.

Select "Exit" from the MAIN MENU to return to the BIG BLUE DISK MAIN
 MENU.
