Notes: THE TAIL OF THE STEGOSAURUS WAS COVERED WITH TRIANGULAR PLATES
AND ENDED IN SERIES OF SHARP SPIKES SHEATHED IN HORN. THE SPIKES
REACHED TO A LENGTH OF THREE OR FOUR FEET. THE STEGOSAURUS UNGULATUS
HAD EIGHT SPIKES AT THE END OF ITS TAIL.

IN CREATING A STABLE TRIPOD WHEN THE ANIMAL FED ON TALL TREES. IT COULD
ALSO BE USED FOR DEFENSE AND LASHED ABOUT LIKE A WHIP.
