I. Introduction
---------------

Catch the Kreis is an arcade-style game that puts you in
the role of an X, that has to capture an O (the Kreis, i.e.
Circle).
This may sound easy, but due to the A.I. and several obstacles
like blockades and teleporters this can be really difficult.
This project is only for FUN. Nothing serious. So, if you
think this little and crappy piece of software isn't worth to
be promoted you are... RIGHT!
But when was the last time you played a game, that took (with
the txt-files) less than 150KB of your HD?


II. What do we have here?
-------------------------

There are several files included:

CATCH.EXE	-The game itself
CATCH.TXT	-The source-code for you to view, but without the highscore-coding
STORY.TXT	-The story of the game
STORYGER.TXT	-The story in german
HIGHSC.DAT	-The highscore-file
READNOT.TXT	-This one
READNOTG.TXT	-The german version of this


III. How to play
----------------

After the two intros you start at the option screen. To play press '1'. Then
you are thrown to the preference-screen. First type in the level of slowlyness,
ranging from 1-10, then select the level according to the amount of levels and the
description below.
The game itself is very easy to play. Move the X with the cursor. That's all.

The obstacles:

The blockade	-blocks
The teleporter	-teleports you to another teleporter (blue and blinking)
The timetrap	-gives you 5 seconds to your time (red, white and blinking)

If you have catched the Kreis you will come to the winning-screen, where
your time and your score is shown. It should be as little as possible.
The score cumulates like this.

SCORE=TIME*SLOWLYNESS

Maybe you have been that good, so that your are able to put your name into
the highscore. So, then type in your name.


IV. Want to create levels?
--------------------------

You like the game and want to create levels on your own? No problem!
Just look at the source code and you will see, that levels or nothing
but digits in an 29X18 order. The used digits are:

0 for nothing
1 for a blockade
2 for a teleporter
3 for a time-trap

When you have done a field, send it to me and I will implent it (not always).
