                Yes! The toads are back in Toadman 2 : Space Shock.
        Why 'Space Shock'? Because in this one, the toads have laser guns,
        and most of the battle levels are in space.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

                First of all, Toadman 2 can have 1 or 2 players!

        In order for 1 player, open up the 'TOADMAN2.BAS' file. Scroll down
        until you get to the speed constants. Below those is 'OnePlayerMode%'
        variable. Make it equal 1 for one player. When you play, there
        still will be two screens for each player, you are the screen on the
        right, the blue-eyed toad. The screen one the left, the red-eyed toad
        is controlled by the computer. You must kill him to win.

                I set the OnePlayerMode% variable to 0, since the first
        Toadman was two players only. Toadman 2 was made for 2 players, but
        I put that variable in there to make the red-eyed toad controllable by
        the computer. The computer isn't smart enough to plant mines, shoot
        the bazooka, or anything spiffy like that, so don't expect too much
        from him.

  What is Toadman?

        Toadman was originally a two player battle game where two toads are
        determined to destroy each other. You start on a battle ground with
        some life and ammo, and then go around getting items and other things
        to destroy the other player.

  What is Toadman 2?

        Toadman 2 is, the sequel to Toadman, duh. But this one can be either
        1 or 2 players. Since most of it was made for two players, the one
        player mode might seem, like two players, but one player is controlled
        by the computer. Toadman 2 also has other things the first Toadman
        didn't.

  What do you need?

        I recommend a 486/66MHz computer or better with QuickBASIC v4.5.

  Differences from Toadman 1 to Toadman 2.

        Toadman 1 was only two players, but Toadman 2 can be either
        one or two players. In the first Toadman, the toads shoot with
        flamethrowers. In this one, they fight with laser guns, knifes,
        hammers, chainsaws, mines, and bazookas. Toadman 2 also has some
        nice animation the first one didn't have. The only animation in the
        first one were the toads exploding. In Toadman 2,there's animation all
        over the place, the toads move their feet, water moves, and more
        stuff like that.

  How to play.

                Here are the keys for Toadman 2.

        Player 1                                Player 2

 Move around = W,S,A,D Move around = CURSOR KEYS
 Shoot        = Q                       Shoot        = ENTER
 Hit          = 1                       Hit          = ]
 Drop Mine    = 2                       Drop Mine    = [
 Baz-Mode     = TAB                     Baz-Mode     = \

  Moving around.

        Up above tells you how to move around. In OnePlayerMode, you use
        Player 2's keys.

  Shooting.

        You can shoot left or right by pressing the 'SHOOT' key. Be careful,
        the farther the laser travels, the more ammo you lose. A toad loses
        5 health by getting hit by a laser. Unless you have the SUPERLASER,
        which takes away 10 health. See the ' Bonus Items.' below.

  Hit?

        What does hit mean? If you have a knife, hammer, or chainsaw, and
        press the hit key, anything around you will get hurt. The knife,
        hammer, and chainsaw are each stronger than the other respectively.

  Baz-Mode.

        Baz-Mode is short for Bazooka Mode. If you have a bazooka and hit the
        'BAZ-MODE' key, a target will appear on your screen. You can move
        this target anywhere on the map. When your in baz-mode, and you hit
        The 'SHOOT' key, there will be an explosion. A direct hit on the toad
        will take away 50 health else 30 health. Be careful, if you move the
        target too far away, you can't see what's happening to you, so pay
        attention to yourself when baz-mode is on.

  Bonus Items.

                Look around for these things on the battleground.

        Blue medikit with white cross - When your life goes below zero, it
                                           will jump back up to 100.

        Green thing with silver border - Gives you SUPERAMMO, twice as
        and yellow center. strong as normal ammo. You don't
                                           have a limited of time, just a
                                           limit on how much you use.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

  The frozen toads.

                There are toads that are frozen on the map, disturb them, and
        they will awake, and go after you with one thing on their mind, to
        destroy you.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

  Mines and mine fields.

                You can't see any mines on the battle ground accept for the
        ones you put on the battle ground. But, if you get the minesweeper,
        you can see all the mines on the battle ground, which gives you a good
        advantage.
                One OnePlayerMode, the computer isn't smart enough to drop
        mines, or see that the only way out of a dead-end is too go threw them
        which gives you little use for them in OnePlayerMode.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

  Slime and Poisonous slime.

                There is green slime on the battle field which will hurt you
        if you touch it. But the yellow slime is much more dangerous. Touch
        that and you will be posioned, which means your life will drop by 1
        really fast. To cure this, you must get the green medipack with the
        yellow cross on it. It won't give you extra health, it will just stop
        The poison.

  The level converter.

        You can convert Toadman 1 levels to Toadman 2 levels by using the
        Toadman1 to Toadman2 level converter 'TD1-TD2.BAS'. Enter the path
        and name of the toadman1 level and the path and name for the toadman2
        level. It will converted it pretty fast. But it will change the keys
        to keycards, and the doors to doors to be used with the keycard. On
        Toadman2, one keycard will open all the doors with that color. On
        Toadman1, one key will only open one door, then you will lose that
        key. Which might make levels you made in Toadman1 easier in Toadman2.

  The level builder.

        Yes, this game includes the level builder with it 'TOAD2-BU.BAS'. You
        can make your levels in that, and then load them in Toadman2 to play
        by selecting 'Load Custom Map' in the main menu.

  Delta Code?

        Delta Code is the software group that I am in. Me and my cousin came
        up with it, and so far, we are the only ones in it. We called it
        Delta Code becase we live in Delta and type Code. NOT Delta Code
        Interactive like I put in the First Toadman, just Delta Code.
