This program may only be distributed free of charge, complete, and unmodified.

and unchanged.
If you want to play with the .bmp and .dat files for your
own personal entertainment, feel free.

This game may not be distributed as a purchase-dependent "free gift", for
example on a magazine cover-disk.

You run this program at your own risk, and the author will not be held
responsible for any loss, damage, illness, injury, discomfort or projectile
vomiting it may cause. That said, it is pretty unlikely that anything will
go catastrophically wrong.

This game is currently incomplete, and made available for preview purposes
only.

Release Notes:
==============

This is nowhere near finished yet, but the gameplay is pretty much all there,
so I threw something together in time for Christmas. There's no sound, no
city editor, I never got anywhere with tweaking the graphics, and the
in-game messages are a bit clunky. But the game is there.

This game was written with the aid of the DJGPP compiler:
http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/
and the Allegro game programming library:
http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro/
both of which I heartily recommend.

It should run in MS-DOS and compatibles, and Windows 95 and above.
I think it'll work in Windows NT as well.
I've tried the game on a 100MHz Pentium and it ran with time to spare so
I should think it'll be okay on any Pentium machine. I don't know how bad
it'll be on a 486.

If it doesn't work for you, I apologise. Let me know what's going wrong,
and whatever you can tell me about your configuration, and I'll see what
I can do before the next release.

This conversion isn't much different to the original game, except that:
- It doesn't run on Speccies (duh).
- It's a wee bit faster.
- You can choose a number of ants, from 0 to 250 (the original game had 5).
- I've added directional controls for walking in different directions. The
  original rotational controls are still there too.

In-Game Controls:
=================

C = jump
V = walk
M = turn left
, = turn right
Q A P L = walk in different directions
[SPACE] = jump
S D F G = throw grenade
1 2 3 4 = switch view angle
F1 F2 F3 F4 = switch view angle
[Esc] = quit game
[Ctrl] = turbo mode
[Pause] = pauses the game

Known Issues:
=============

The main menu doesn't work if the caps lock is switched on.
Occasionally your partner can run while balanced on your forehead.
The graphics haven't really been enhanced significantly.
There's no sound yet.
There's no city editor yet.
The menu screen is ugly.
The intermission screens are ugly.
The in-game messages are ugly.
The colour scheme is ugly.
The source code is just plain hideous.
Robocop is hard.
