^C^IMagic effects for your "magic box"

you're going to love this program. In fact, we guarantee it
will take you back to your childhood...or to your
children's. Has your "magic box" ever created beautiful and
colorful spiraling shapes? It will now! Best of all, there
are two versions of this fantastic program on issue #78--one
for DOS and one for Windows 3.1. So, no matter which
environment you prefer, you'll be able to enjoy SUPERSPIRO.


^C^I---SUPERSPIRO FOR WINDOWS 3.1 INSTRUCTIONS---

STEP 1 - Run Windows 3.1.

STEP 2 - Insert the ODM #78 disk, then access the File
         Manager in Windows.

STEP 3 - Use the File Manager to copy the file, SPIRO.SCR
         into your Windows directory or folder.

STEP 4 - Double-click on the Control Panel icon (usually
         located in the Program Manager).

STEP 5 - Double-click on the Desktop icon in the Control
         Panel window.

STEP 6 - Select SPIRO from the pick list of screen savers
         in the Desktop window.

STEP 7 - Click the Setup button to set the following
         options: MODULE; the timing options of SPEED and
         PAUSE Between Patterns; and PASSWORD Protection.
         See "Options" below for explanations of each.
         Make your choices and approve them to return to the
         Desktop window.

STEP 8 - Click the Text button to view the results. Return
         to the Setup and make adjustments to suit your
         computer and sense of aesthetics.


^C^1SUPERSPIRO FOR WINDOWS SCREEN SAVER OPTIONS

The following MODULES are available:
BLANK - Turns SuperSpiro into a screen "blanker." No
  patterns will be drawn to the screen.
INSIDE - SuperSpiro draws a design around an "inner"
  circular object.
OUTSIDE - SuperSpiro draws a design around an "outer"
  circular object.
EITHER - SuperSpiro randomly draws designs around either an
  "inner" or an "outer" circular object.
BOTH - SuperSpiro draws both an "inner" and an "outer" design
around circular objects.

The following SPEEDS are available: slowest, slow, medium,
fast and fastest. You may set the PAUSE (between drawing
designs) as: no pause, shortest, short, medium, long and
longest. And finally, you may enable or disable password
protection at will...but don't forget the password you
select!

^C^I---SUPERSPIRO FOR DOS INSTRUCTIONS---

STEP 1 - Copy SPIRO.EXE into a subdirectory that is in
         your computer's "path statement." If you aren't
         sure which subdirectories are in your path, type
         "PATH" then press Enter at the DOS prompt, and DOS
         will display your path. NOTE: you do not have to
         copy the program into a subdirectory in your path;
         however, if you do not, you won't be able to run
         SUPERSPIRO from any location in your directory tree
         structure (i.e., from any drive or directory).
STEP 2 - At the DOS prompt, type SPIRO to run the
         program. Be sure to note the controls or command
         line parameters below that alter the design
         SUPERSPIRO "paints" on your computer screen.
STEP 3 - Press any key to return to the DOS prompt.
STEP 4 - This is an optional step. You may also add SUPERSPIRO
         to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to automatically run it
         each time you boot up, by making "SPIRO.EXE" the
         last line in the .BAT file. NOTE: if you set up
         Clock Worx (issue #77) to do this, you must replace
         that program (CLOCKWRX.EXE) with SPIRO.EXE.

^C^1SUPERSPIRO FOR DOS COMMAND LINE OPTIONS

The following display options may be set at the DOS prompt
when you run SuperSpiro.

At the DOS prompt, type:
SPIRO /B....to run SuperSpiro so that both an INSIDE and
               an OUTSIDE circular design are drawn
SPIRO /R....to run SuperSpiro so that either an INSIDE or
               an OUTSIDE circular design is drawn (RANDOM)
SPIRO /I....to run SuperSpiro so that only an INSIDE
               circular design is drawn
SPIRO /O....to run SuperSpiro so that only an OUTSIDE
               circular design is drawn

SPIRO /?....to view a list of these options
SPIRO /C....to run the program in CGA/MCGA mode (b/w
               graphics)
SPIRO /E....to run the program in EGA mode (color)
SPIRO /V....to run the program in VGA mode (color)
SPIRO /VER..to access version and credit information
