	      Commonly asked questions about Indenture

Did you make an Atari 2600 emulator? If so, are there any other games
  for it?

Indenture is not an emulator. It is a re-creation. I programmed it
from scratch while simply observing the original Atari cartridge. I
have not made any other Atari 2600 games for the PC (yet). If you are
really interested, there is a software package for MS-Windows called
"Activision's Action Pack." I have seen it in just about every store
that carries computer software. It is also available for Windows 95
and Macintosh. It is a true Atari 2600 emulator, and the package
  includes 15 game titles.

HELP!! I can't find the dot!! Why did you make it so hard?!

I didn't. The dot is something that was present in the original
2600 game. I implemented it exactly as it exists in the original
game. Therefore, you'd have to ask the original programmer why the
dot is so difficult to find. I will not tell anyone where the dot is,
or how to get to it. But I will give some hints. Here's one hint:
the dot is in the black castle. Watch the appearance of the rooms
themselves; there is something about them that will tell you an
object is hiding in one particular room.

Do you plan to make any more classic games for the PC?

Yes. I'll announce them on rec.games.video.classic when they're
ready. Keep in mind that it takes a single person months to
  program a (decent) videogame.

How did you program Indenture? Can the program code be ported to
  Macintosh, X-Windows, etc.?

Indenture was programmed entirely in assembly, using a terrific
command-line assembler, A86, and its companion debugger, D86. Look
for them on a SimTel FTP site near you. Since Indenture was done in
assembly, there is no way to port it to other systems, and I have no
  plans to try. Sorry.

I would love to see a level editor for Indenture.

I don't plan on making a level editor, sorry.

Please please please tell me what the "tokens" do!

Not a chance. But I will tell you that it's not something so incredibly
obscure that you would never be able to figure it out without somebody
giving you the solution. You can figure it out on your own. Others
  have. Without hints, even.

Argh! At least tell me how many tokens there are? I've only found 4!

 There are only four tokens.

How many rooms does Indenture have?

 I'm not telling.

Will I know when I've found all the rooms?

Probably. The "last" room is pretty ... unusual.
