Gold of the Americas (v.1.01) requires at least 512K of memory to run.

If you are experiencing any video problems the program can be forced to
start up in the video mode of your choice.

Just type "GOLD -n" followed by (Enter) where n is
'c' for CGA;
'e' for EGA or VGA;
't' for TANDY;
'h' for HERCULES.

If you are running the game from floppy disks then you will be requested
from time to time to place either disk A or disk B in the drive.

If you wish to install this program on to a hard disk then
1: create a suitable directory, eg 'md GOLD'
2: go to the directory, eg 'cd GOLD'
3: load all the files from disk A and disk B, eg 'copy a:*.*'

If you wish to use a mouse with this program you must have an
appropriate mouse driver installed or the program will not operate.

1. Spain is the country given in the tutorial to provide the best all-round
idea of the game. The easiest country to play, however, is probably England.
2. Colonists add to the defensive value of a colony, each being equal to
about half an army.
3. It is possible to change player types during the course of the game.
Thus, if the going gets tough an EXPERT becomes a NOVICE.
4. Independent colonies have an influence on those around them, spreading
sedition and possibly reducing their loyalty.
5. Slave revolts cannot, by themselves, wipe out a colony.
6. Colonist loyalty will not drop if the colony is on level 1 and level 2.
7. Each NOVICE computer opponent will enhance any human players. It may
be an idea if playing EXPERTS to use one NOVICE player to improve your
chances.
