Front Page Sports: Football Pro '95 patched and tweaked to ver. 1.03

-Installation:

1. Extract fpsfpro95.zip with your favorite unarchiver.

3. DblClick on sierra.exe -This will extract the game into a directory called \sierra\fpspro95 under the location that you have chosen.

-Setup:

Go to the folder where you extracted the game to and...

DblClick on soundset.exe and configure the game for your sound card.

-Playing the Game:

This is a DOS game, but it can be played in Windows95/98 if you have enough Conventional Memory available. (It also requires that EMS memory be present).

Go to the folder where you extracted the game to and...

DblClick on hike.com

...and the game should start.

LClick on "Ok" when the CP question comes up.

This game can be played in WinXP using the VDMSound utility. You will need to use VDMSound on the soundset.exe file when you configure sound and then on hike.com to play. When setting up the shortcut for hike.com you will need to use the "enable the VESA compatibility" option and uncheck the "advanced" / "compatibility" / "enable DPMI support (DOSX)" box. (hike.vpl file is a VDMSound shortcut that is already set up for these values, but you may need to edit the "command line" box depending on where you installed the game.

-Sound cards:

Sound is currently set for a SoundBlaster 16 at 220 - DMA 1 - IRQ 7

-Misc:

The /oldexes subfolder contains the original unmodified .exe files. These may be needed if another patch is released.

*****IMPORTANT*****

When playing in WinXP: The game resets the system date to 1794 or 1730 or something else equally strange! (at least that's what it did here). After playing the game *before* doing anything else change the date back to what it is supposed to be. If you don't, strange things will start to happen.
