Troubleshooting
---------------

* To run Scorched Planet in native MS-DOS mode you must have a mouse
driver installed.

* If you experience problems running the Verite version of Scorched
Planet, removing EMM386.EXE from your config.sys file, or using a
boot disk with a config.sys that doesn't contain EMM386.EXE may help.

Hints and Tips for playing Scorched Planet
------------------------------------------

The Scorched Planet manual explains the various game elements and
controls for the game. For those of you who want a head start in
the game here are a few guidelines which will help you blast those
Voraxians and save those humans.

* Civilians should be saved first: soldiers can look after themselves

* Look for groups of collectibles on the radar as this could indicate
a secret area

* You don't need to exit the stage immediately you have saved the
minimum number of humans: for every extra human saved you will get
an enhanced human on the next stage

* When morphing into a tank you should keep low and land on even
ground to avoid time consuming tumbling

* Don't waste time attacking the Factory Ship on the lower levels as
it is almost invulnerable

* Moving the city beacons is a quick way to evacuate a city although
you should remember that the colonists will only follow it if they are
outside its radius of influence

* Zombies cannot be saved: they can be cured and then saved. If you
pick up a zombie it will infect all the other humans on board

* Save buoys need to be collected and deployed to save games, so don't
waste them!

* Network play - players can hide in the secret areas

* Network play - try laying mines inside the secret area: just
remember where you put them!
