~GAME SETUP
--------------------------------

~Team Matchups
*To view a statistical comparison of the two teams about
   to play, click TEAM MATCHUPS.

~Playbook Home/Visitor
*To choose one of the available Playbooks, click PLAYBOOK
   HOME/VISITOR. To select an existing playbook, click SAVED
   PLAYBOOKS, then click the name of the playbook. To go to
   the Playbook Editor, click CUSTOM.

* To delete all CUSTOM playbooks, run the manage.exe
   program for DOS or WINDOWS,
   see help in playbook for further info
* To remove the CUSTOM playbook from the screen,
   set your play mode to demo mode
* You can choose beteween all playbooks in the game at the
   bottom of the playcalling screen. The CUSTOM playbook
   used will be the one loaded from this menu.

~Play Mode
*To choose a Play mode, click PLAY MODE, then click 
   ONE PLAYER, TWO PLAYERS, or DEMO.

~Controls
*To choose the control set up for the home and visiting
   teams, click CONTROLS, then HOME or VISITOR, then click
   COACH or PLAY AND COACH. To choose a controller, click
   KEYPAD, KEYBOARD LEFT, JOYSTICK 1, JOYSTICK 2, or
   MOUSE (coach mode only).

*Controls default to the type used in the last game, 
  it is a good idea to reset your control type 
   before each game.
* To set JOYSTICK 1 to the visitor (for 2 player) game
   Do the following:
    
Select one player
    Select controls / visitor / player coach, JOYSTICK 1
    Select Two player
  
The Joystick 1 will now be on Visitor and the Joystick 2
   will be Home

~Quarter
*To set up the length of each quarter in the game, click
   QUARTER, then click 5, 10, or 15 MINUTES.
   If you change this option during game play, the change 
   will occur at the beginning of the next quarter only 
   if you change to a longer time from a shorter time.

~Weather
*To customize the weather conditions for the upcoming game,
   click WEATHER, then click CLEAR, RAIN, WIND, or SNOW.
   Note:WEATHER options are not available in a DOME stadium.


~GAME PREFERENCES

NOTE: These options can also be changed during gameplay.


~FRAME RATE

* To turn details on/off or select a detail level, click in
  the on/off column or click the desired level.
* To speed up the game, decrease the Geometry
  settings and Screen Size and turn off the Stadium
  Detail and Player details

~Geometry
Select LOW (no stadium detail), MEDIUM (intermediate
stadium detail), or HIGH (full stadium detail).

~Screen Size 
Adjust the size of the game screen to fill 70 to 100% of
your monitor.

~Stadium Detail 
Turn on/off the amount of stadium detail during the game.

NOTE: Grass/Turf textures must be turned on for the NFL
      logo to appear.

~Player Detail
Turn on/off player's jersey numbers and player shadows.

~AUDIO
* To turn sound effects and commentary on/off, click in the
  on/off column.

~Sound
Adjust the type of sound effects heard during the game.

~Voice
Turn in-game commentary on/off.

~OPTIONS
* To turn options on/off, click in the on/off column.

~Point of View
Select a camera angle.

~Camera
Choose between a FIXED camera view or a DYNAMIC
camera that moves to follow the action.

~Difficulty
Select a level of difficulty. The default level is ROOKIE,
but if the competition's too tough or not tough enough, 
choose PRO or ALL MADDEN.

~Influence States
If too many of your players are getting banged up, 
turn PLAYER INJURIES off, but for more realistic 
competition leave it ON. Turn PENALTIES off or leave
them on and play by the rules.


* To highlight an item, move the mouse cursor over it.
* To select the highlighted item, left-click.
* To view this screen, select HELP.
* To return to the previous screen, select MENU.
* To start a game, select PLAY.
