The Realm of the WatchDog
Unregistered Version 1.1.1

If you paid any money for this version of The WatchDog, return it
to the person or company you bought it from and report it to me immediately.
My contact information is below. If you paid for this version, you did NOT
buy it from the original programmer.
This game is the second IGM officially released by Marshall
Programs. It gives you a reading to look over. After you are done reading
it, you will be asked questions about it. If you answer correctly, you are
a true watchdog and will be rewarded. If you answer incorrectly, you are not
a true watchdog and will not be rewarded. This game has a lot more than
meets the eye.
Unlike The Attic IGM, this does not have a single train of thought.
In The Attic, you can easily memorize the answers to the CrAzY Jeopardy
questions, assuring yourself of a cash or experience prize every single time.
In contrast, The WatchDog does not allow this. In this version, there are
actually three readings, each just slightly different than the others. There
is no way you can actually tell the difference just by looking at it. You
need to look in depth at the reading and learn.
There is also the possibility that a player can just look at his
scrollback function of his BBS utility. This problem has been eliminated, as
several screens of text have been inserted so that the reading will be wiped
from the memory of most scrollback screens. Thanks to wyndo@cxo.com for
pointing out this error.
In the registered version, there are MANY more readings, making the
style a little more varied. In this version, a player has a 1 in 20 chance
of getting into a bonus area. The odds are much better in the full version.
Possibly the biggest difference between the full version and this is
that the full version sets new IGM records. My StarWars IGM was the biggest
IGM ever introduced to the scene. The WatchDog dwarfs StarWars. But more
importantly, this IGM tests the Lunatix elevator to its fullest capabilities
in that EVERY SINGLE COMMAND POSSIBLE has been used. Every command, value,
string, MCI code, color, and item have been inserted into this IGM, putting
the elevator to the test. Everything from the /HALT command to items that
don't yet have any use in Lunatix (except in StarWars and possibly other
IGMs).
If you wish to know what version you are using, start the game. In
the title screen, look at the text that says "A Lunatix IGM" blah blah blah.
In the spaces, there is a dark blue character. Put these characters together
for the version. For example: the unregistered version 1.1.1 would look like
this: "A1Lunatix.IGM1by.Steve1Marshall" The spaces read "1.1.1".
In order to receive the full registered version of this game, please
e*mail me. My contact information is below. I will tell you how to reach me
easily. I choose to use this method so that I may get in touch with my users
personally and get to know you. This is something I found very helpful in
the making of StarWars. Because I knew my users, we talked, we solved
possible bugs, and StarWars is now an internationally used game, thanks to
one of my users! So this is very important to me.
Thank you for choosing The WatchDog. I wish you well, I would hope
to visit your board someday, and look for more exciting games from me here
at Marshall Programs!
