August 22
Lot of things are changed, most of them just 'fine tuning'
of both Major CD and the LAN-version.
Added a new textvar called CDACCES
It gives the number of CD's a user can see.

May 20
Added a pseudo_key called "_CDAGE#" (note the underscore).
You can add a number to this key. For example if you put
the lock "_CDAGE#18" to an option, only users with a age
greater of equal to 18 will have acces.

Added an option where the user can define if he wants the
full screen tagger or not. There's a textvariable for this.
The textvariable CDTAGGER gives ON or OFF related to the
users setting, which is saved to disk!

I also added a new textvarible with the name CDDOWNLOADS
This gives the number of files a user downloaded (ever) from
	your CD-ROM's.

April
Forgot to write changes down. Did a lot of work for the
	network support.

March 14
Got a report about Major CD Util which did not allowed more
then 25 CD's. Sorry for this one: FIXED

March 4
Some customers reported a problem with the control keys of the
full screen tagger. Seems that some communication programs are
freaking out on Control-S and Control-Q (XON/XOFF). As a solution
the same keys are working without the control-key. So S saves,
	A or Q aborts, U for page-up, D for page-down, and so on. This
makes the full screen tagger a bit more sensitive to line noise.

Februari 24
Oops, a *REAL* bug was reported. When a user has set his/her
screenlength for more then 34 lines, the full screen tagger
will GP your system. Thanks to Tombob, Paulf and Yannick for
their extensive reports. With the information you guys supplied
me, find the problem (and fixing it) was not that difficult.

Februari 20
User "Grey" found the solution to our 'download while the files
are not retrieved' problem. It was so simple. Major CD doesn't
show the [D]ownload option when there are no files retrieved.
As a bonus, we introduce the textvar RETRIEVED that will give
you the number of files that are retrieved for that user. We use
it in the same menu-line that says how many files are tagged.

Februari 18
Forgot to make a configuration option to disable the full screen
tagger. The customers requested it, so we made it. But it hurts.
We've spend hours (nights) on this thing, not to disable it!

Februari 13
Major breakthrough: Major CD is now compatible with the DRD608.SYS
device driver. This driver assigns only one drive-letter to a
complete Pioneer drive. This means you can have 8 Pioneer drives
(that's 64 CD ROM's) online, only using 8 drive letters.
Nothing to setup: just change your system so it uses the DRD608
device driver. Major CD will know it.
(only works with the Future Domain controller)

Februari 8
	By popular demand:
Made Major CD more reactive to command stacking. It's now possible
to jump from your TOP-menu to every option of Major CD. The command
	line: "C A 20 T DEMO TEST.ARC"
	Will tag DEMO.ZIP and TEST.ARC from CD-ROM a area 20.
	and the line: "C F 11 L GIF"
Will start the search for keyword GIF on CD-ROM F area 11.
Negative side effect: users MUST use the T option to tag.

Februari 2
Little fix. On some systems the CMOS time corections give
	strange side effects.

Januari 21, 1993
Just a little thing. Major CD wouldn't retrieve files if a
	user had the invissible flag.

Januari 18, 1993
Fixed a problem that kept me busy for a long time, until it
happened on our demo-system. It was so simple (and simple to fix).
When an user disconnects during the retrieval of files, nobody
could retrieve on that channel anymore until the next cleanup.
(the channel status 'Allready retrieving' was still set).

Januari 15, 1993
Fixed some dates in this UPDATE.TXT file. Happy new year!
In the full screen tagging service of Major CD Plus, a
	use can now also use:
	9-->page up
	3-->page down
	8-->cursor up
	2-->cursor down

So users with for example Qmodem can use the numeric keypad
instead of the cursorkey (that didn't seem to work for them)

January 10, 1993
Fixed a 'little' problem in Major CD plus. If an user started
to browse using the full screen tagging service, Major CD did
insert some garbage in other channels.
	Thanks for reporting Guys!

January 03, 1993
Fixed a security problem. When a user did a mass-search he
did also see files on CD's that should be invisable for him.
	I nailed this little one.

January 02, 1993
Happy new year!! Just added two TEXTVAR's:
CDFILES: The number of files on all CD's. Great for advertizements.
CDPATHS: The number of paths used on all CD's.

December 30, 1992
Prostar has some problems activating the retrieval. Seems that
RTCICK() is not working correctly on systems with a lot of lines.
Had that problem also with another 5.3 system some months ago.
	So I changed the Rtcick-stuff to Begin_polling() and end_polling().
Seems to work even smoother then it ever did before.
Interrim version just for STER BBS and Prostar.

December 29, 1992
Finally got the time to check the statistics. Seems that most
of the stats (dayly, monthly, yearly) where refering to disc n-1.
You can notice that by looking at the latest CD (no reference).
	Fixed in notime. (done.)

December 28, 1992
Tested about a dozen scriptfiles with multiple paths.
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!! This problem is finaly fixed.

December 26, 1992
No Xmas for me. Have to find this login problem.
21:30 hour local time: great news from Dave Bell. The problems
are gone. Just one "Btrieve error 5" (caused by the scriptfile).
Fixed this by making CD-Util more polite.
Again: THANKS DAVE, I COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR HELP

December 24, 1992
	Private version for three sysops.
Still trying to find out why some customers are having problem
loggin in new files from scratch while others do not have any
	problem.
**** GREAT THANKS TO DAVE BELL OF FLATLAND CENTER BBS ****
Dave just found a possible cause of all the problems: The
offline utility, option CD-DELETE didn't delete all the paths!!
When you login a new CD, after deleting an older one, some of
the paths of the previous CD where still there causing problems.
The fix for it was easy, to find it not: Thanks Dave!!

December 22, 1992
One sysop spotted a problem using more then 12 CD's.
Ghee, is Major CD that popular? Sorry about the limit guys.
	It was removed instantly.

December 12, 1992
Some systems running Major BBS V6.0 are having problem with
the time of their system. Their computer seems to run behind
loosing several minutes a day. However, the CMOS-time is
running correctly (every time you reset your computer, the
time is ok). Although this has nothing to do with Major CD, I
wrote a little function that will read-out the CMOS clock
everytime a user logs on to your system. You can turn this
option on and of in the configuration. If you don't have problems
with the system time, TURN IT OFF!

November 27, 1992
On special request: a new configuration option (CDSHOC) to
	disable postings to the auditrail.

Changed the Exit_handler of Major CD. If a user entered Major CD
with stacked commands (or through a menu-page with a commandline),
Major CD will skip menu where the CD's are listed. System with
only one CD online dodn't have to use the CD-menu, but can send
the user straight to the area-selection menu.
This means it's also possible to create your own CD-Menu pages
	with BBS-draw (Hi Nick).

November 17, 1992
The first systems are using the full screen tagging system now.
Got great response to it: Users realy like it. One question from
Kris Stephens: the full screen tagger continious to the next
library if the end (or beginning) of the current lib is reached.
Kris would like to stop there. OK, that's fine with me. There's
now a new Level-4 configuration option where you can deside where
to stop: at the end (beginning) of the LIB, at the end (beginning)
	of the CD or NEVER.

November 7, 1992 (4 nights to sleep before my birthday)
The first Beta Release of Major CD with a full ANSI file tagging
system. Seems to work fine. I'm waiting for user-input.

November 1, 1992
Ghee, realy like CD-Check. It showed me a bug in CD-Copy. CD-Copy did
not copy more then one Subdirectory to the Btrieve files. If you made
a login-file with multiple directories attached to one area, Major CD
couldn't find any file that was not in the first directory.
Thanks to 'Desperado' for the report.

Remember, the problem was in CD-Copy and NOT in CD-Login. This means
that your stand-alone Btrieve files are OK. Just use CD-Delete to
remove the CD from the masterfile and use CD-Copy to add it again.

October 25, 1992
The offline program has gained an extra option: CD-Check.
	CD-Check will check two things:
		1) Are all the files (of one CD) logged in actually on
                    the CD-ROM.
		2) Are there any files on the CD-ROM that are not logged in.

If you select CD-Check it will only ask you to enter the CD-Number
to check. If you've entered a correct number Cd-Check will do its
	work.
After it's finished you will find a log file named MR_CDCHK.LOG
	in your Major BBS directory.

October 12, 1992
	Two things are changed:
	1) Major CD is now 'Major STAT' aware. If Major STAT is there,
Major CD will generate a lot of statistics in the Nightly
cleanup that Major STAT will use.
	2) Several (first time ) Major CD Sysops, are accendently removing
some % signs from the ZIP-comment. This will give a GP when
Major CD is finished retrieving a file. So we changed the ZIP-
comment routine. It will not insert any variable any more. The
ZIP-comment doesn't have any % sign any more and MAY NOT HAVE
	   any % sign any more.
However, you can create the same ZIP-comment as before using the
textvars TIME, DATE, CDNUM and the new QUECD, QUELIB, QUEUID. The
last three are brand new and you can use them ONLY in the
	   ZIP-comment. Here's wat they mean:
QUECD: CD number of the currently retrieved file
QUELIB: Library number of the currently retrieved file
QUEUID: UserID of the person who tagged the currently retreived file

October 3, 1992:
You must know by now, I'm not much of an artist, Playing with ANSI
is not my favorite job. The customers who did complain about it are
perfectly right. So i did several things (thanks for PC LIB for his
	suggestions):
	1) I changed all the prf() statements in prfmsg() and moved the
text from the source to the MSG-file. So you can do whatever
you like with it, including adding ANSI-colors.
        2) There's a new option where you can define if Major CD must
construct the CD-MAIN menu (where all your CD's are listed)
or not. If you select NO, you can create your own MAIN-menu
in the TextBlocks (option 6 from BBS menu).
        3) For the ANSI-freaks: There's a new option where you can define
if you want the CD-Area listing be displayed from the MSG-file
or from disk (like the old days). If you choose to have them
read in from disk, you'll have to set the menupath and you have
to create the menu-files. You can have up to three files for
each CD. The filename is allways MR_CDx (where x is the CD number)
and the three extensions are ANS, ASC and IBM. We follow the
Major BBS 6.0 standard here, so look at your System Operations
manual to see which user gets which menu.
So legal filenames are MR_CD1.ANS, MR_CD2.ASC, MRCD10,IBM and so
	   on.
The best thing to do is to also define the menu in the MSG-file:
if Major CD can't for some reason find the menu-file, it will
switch to the MSG-file. You can also put some error-message instead
like "Menu-file not found, please notify sysop".

October 1, 1992:
Oops, was working so hard that I've forgotten to write to this
file. This means I probably will forget something. But here's
	my try.
First: If the user tagged a file using the T option, Major CD was
always telling it couldn't found the file. Even when it did found
it and copied it to the harddrive. (Thanks to Eric)
Second: Made a mistake in the monthly cleanup causing a GP (again
	thanks to Eric).

September 20, 1992:
We did a lot (I mean A LOT) of work on Major CD in the past two weeks.
First of all a little bug is removed in the statistics, thanks to
	Allan Lambart for reporting it.
And now.... we are proud to anounce: MR_CDUTL.EXE
The Main-utilities (select 8 from the BBS menu) of Major CD.
Form the Major CD Utility section, you can do allmost anything with
your Btrieve and CD-ROM files as you like. See the sysop Manual for
    	full details.
Also included is a batch-program called MR_CDUPE.EXE that will check
any unapproved file from the Library option with all your CD-ROM's.
We also proud to anounce the first official release of Major CD for
Major BBS 6.0. Including a easy way to install all those things.

September 10, 1992:
    1)	Got good news. Changing the _open() etc. routines to fopen() etc.
did removed the problem of Allan Lambart. Thanks for helping Allan.

   2)	Just a good suggestion from one of the users of Galacticomm demo-
system: different credit charges for every CD.
Took me at least 10 minutes to implement.

sEPTEMBER 9, 1992: mY cAPLOCK kEY jUST bROKE
    1) Just kidding. I changed all the _open(), _read() and _write() calls
to the more tolerant fopen(), fread() and fwrite().
Allan Lambart had some problems when MajorCD was accessing his second
        drive. Hope this fixed it.

    2) Added a global command (sysop configurable, but default to /Show) to
	show the taglist.

    3)	RobertM of Prostar suggested to go back to the menu-files again instead
of having the CD-menu's in the MSG-file. I just put them there because
you can now use the TEXTVARs of MBBS. If someone else wants them back
on hardrive, just let me know and I make a LEVEL02 config option of it
	(best of both worlds?).

September 8, 1992:
    1)	You guys wanted statisctics? You got it.
There's an extra statistic screen that will list the top 12
popularity index of every CD. In one page you will see the most
used areas of every CD. With Page-Up and Page Down you can walk
through the different CD's. This stat will clean every month.
ALERT!! I had to change MR_CDSTA.DAT for this, so remove your
old file and use a fresh MR_CDSTA.DAT.
Also new for this option is the screen MR_MJRC2.BIN.

September 7, 1992: Sorry second update
    1) The download-keys where out of line. Downloadkey 1 was for disc 2
	and so on.
Thanks to Allan Poirier for his GP.OUT

September 7, 1992:
    1)	Fixed a bug that affected the non Pioneer/FD customers.
MajorCD allways tried to change a disc, even when config tells im
	not to.
    2)	Added a [M]ass search option on request of 'PC-Lib'. User can now
search through the current library, the current CD or all the CD's.
Have to ajust the online manual to tell the users it could take a
while before MajorCD is finished scanning all the (12?) discs.
    3) Got a suggestion to build some statistics for every CD on how
popular the different libraries on every CD are. How to build those
stats if I don't know how many libraries a CD would have?
	Any suggestions?

September 6, 1992:
First Beta release to several MajorCD Customers
