REQUIREMENTS
Global Power requires that you are running Worldgroup by Galacticomm.
Global Power is shipped as a run-time DLL that must operate in conjunction
with Worldgroup. Global Power has been tested and operated with Worldgroup
v1.0 and v1.01.

Global Power uses approximately 245Kb of memory above 1Mb (extended memory)
and approximately 3Kb of memory below 1MB (low memory). Global Power uses
approximately 500Kb of disk space on your Worldgroup server without any
store data.

It is assumed that you have a good understanding of DOS, Windows, and your
computer. It is also assumed that you understand the basics of modem
communications such as logging onto a BBS and uploading/downloading files.
It is also assumed that you make regular backups of your system and
understand how to restore files from those backups. In addition, the
specific hardware requirements set forth by Galacticomm to operate
Worldgroup also apply.

QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS
These quick start instructions are designed to get experienced Worldgroup
sysops up and running quickly. If you are a novice sysop or don't have
experience adding modules to your system then you will probably want to use
the complete instructions. These instructions assume you are using Global
Power in ANSI terminal mode.

Installation
1. Insert the Global Power distribution diskette in a floppy drive and run
the INSTALL.EXE program.
2. Add Global Power to the C/S mode menu tree as a module page.
3. Enter your activation code and edit the level 3 security options in
DPIGLO1.MSG.
4. Edit the level 4 configuration options in DPIGLO1.MSG.

INSTALLATION
Installation of Global Power should be done when your Worldgroup server is
down and the cursor is at the DOS prompt. Do not be confused by the options
"Basic Utilities" or "Add-on Utilities" on the Worldgroup Introductory Menu
as those options are not used during the installation or operation of
Global Power.

1.	Backup the Global Power distribution diskette using the DOS copy
command. Use the backup diskette for installation.

1a.	If the distribution diskette is the wrong size simply copy the files
from the distribution diskette to the correct sized diskette and
proceed with the installation.

1b.	If you downloaded a ZIP file then unzip that file to a floppy drive
or a temporary subdirectory.

2.	Put the Global Power diskette in the appropriate floppy drive
(assumed to be A: for these installation instructions) and type:

	A:\INSTALL

Follow the on-screen directions to install the run-time files from
the distribution diskette into your WGSERV subdirectory.

3.	Choose option 2 (Menu Tree) from the Introductory Menu and add Global
Power to the client/server menu tree. Global Power should be
installed as a C/S Module Page in client/server mode. Global Power
should NOT be added to the terminal mode menu tree. See the section
on Menu Trees on page 224 of the Worldgroup Sysop's Guide for more
information on adding modules to your system's menu tree.

4.	Choose option 3 (Security & Accounting) from the Introductory Menu.
Hit the <F8> key and begin a search for DPIGLO1.MSG. Once the level 3
security options appear, modify them for operation with your system.
See the section in this manual regarding MSG options for further
details. After configuring the level 3 security options, save your
changes and exit back to the Introductory Menu by hitting the <F10>
key.

5.	Choose option 4 (Configuration Options) from the Introductory Menu.
Hit the <F8> key and begin a search for DPIGLO1.MSG. Once the level 4
configuration options appear, modify them for operation with your
system. See the section in this manual regarding MSG options for
further details. After configuring the level 4 configuration options,
save your changes and exit back to the Introductory Menu.

7.	Choose option 5 (Go!) from Worldgroup Introductory Menu and bring up
your BBS.

8.	Log on locally <F7> as the Sysop user and make sure Global Power is
operating correctly.

Distribution Files
Global Power consists of the following files in the \WGSERV subdirectory:

DPIGLO.DLL Run-time Dynamic Link Library
DPIGLO1.MSG	Configuration File
DPIGLO1.H Header File
DPIGLO1.MCV	Runtime Configuration File
DPIGLO.MDF Module Definition File
DPIGLO.RLN Release Notes (ASCII)
DPIGLO*.VIR VIRgin (empty) Data Files
DPIGLO*.DAT	Data Files

The installation process will place the following client/server files in
the \WGSERV\DPIOMALL subdirectory. The files are compressed using the
Windows compress utility and uncompressed at run-time by the Worldgroup
client program.

DPIGLxxx.EXE	Client/Server EXE File
DPIGLxxx.HLP	Client/Server HELP File
TIPS1.VBX Client support VBX
MSGBLAST.VBX	Client support VBX

VSVBX.VBX Client support VBX
MSG CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
Worldgroup has three levels of setup available from the Worldgroup
Introductory Menu (the menu that displays when you type WG from the DOS
prompt). Global Power does not have any Level 1 (Hardware Setup) setup

Options) options.

FREESPC Number of bytes before userlist cycling
This variable sets the minimum amount of free space left in a users output
buffer before the user list starts cycling. Cycling is necessary for larger
line count (>50 Lines) systems since there is potential for output buffer
overflow. A good way to deduce what this number should be is to examine
the text variable DPIUSRI and determine the number of bytes sent and
multiply by 2. If you don't have any problems with user lists leave this
variable at the default of 256.

commands while they are in the menuing system.

RESTRICT Restrict certain globals from specific modules
Certain global commands function is such a way that can cause problems with
other modules. These commands are -qn, -pw, -re, -x, and -gx (-gl and -g1
to -g5). By setting this option to YES, the user will only be able to use
these commands outside of the modules specified in options MNAME1, 2, and
3. Note, this differs from the ONLYMAIN function in that you can restrict
based upon module.

MNAME1 Module 1 to restrict globals
Please insert the module name from the .MDF file that you want to restrict
some globals from being used.

MNAME2 Module 2 to restrict globals
Please insert the module name from the .MDF file that you want to restrict
