                GALMODEM DOCUMENTATION

GALMODEM is a utility DLL that allows a Sysop to configure
the reset, busy-out, and no-answer AT commands strings used
in each of the 16 channel groups.

In order to install GALMODEM, unzip GALMODEM.ZIP in your
BBS directory (usually \BBSV6). GALMODEM.ZIP contains:

o GALMODEM.DLL - the DLL which sets the commands
     o GALMODEM.MSG - the GALMODEM message file
o GALMODEM.MDF - the GALMODEM module definition file
     o GALMODEM.TXT - GALMODEM documentation (this file)

In order to configure the AT command strings, select
Level 1, Hardware Setup, from the Introductory Menu.
There will be a GALMODEM section after the standard hardware
setup options. Set the following options for each of
the Channel Groups (nn = Channel Group 01 to 16):

MDMATZnn Modem reset string, Channel Group #nn:.........ATZ

This is the string sent to a modem to reset it
at the beginning of the initialization sequence.

MDMBSYnn Modem busy-out string, Channel Group #nn:...ATM0H1

This is the string sent to modems when the BBS is shut
down and option RSETOP in "Configuration Options" is set
to BUSY, or a channel is killed to "busyout".

MDMNANnn Modem no-answer string, Channel Group #nn:..ATS0=0

This is the string sent to modems when the BBS is shut
down and option RSETOP in "Configuration Options" is set
to NO-ANS, or a channel is killed to "no-ansr".

GALMODMEM.DLL can be disabled using BBSDMOD (Level 7, Basic
Utilities). Disable the "Modem Command Module". The AT
command strings will then revert to the defaults.
