Before you do anything else, create a new directory. Copy the archive
to this directory and decompress it with "PKUNZIP -d MR_MJRCD.ZIP".
There's a directory DOC created with the manuals for Major CD.
If you install Major CD for the first time read those manuals before you
install Major CD.

If you're updating Major CD from a previous version, KEEP ON READING!!!

Due some changes to Major CD (mostly internal) we had to change the MSG
file. This means you can't use your current MSG file. Sorry for that, we
did avoid it for almost two years, but we couldn't anymore. To make live
as easy as possible, we'll give you a quick way to update.

1) Backup your system. We never do it ourself, but if you're calling
for support be prepared to here "refer to your backup".

2) Check your current Major CD setup. At least write the following down:
    LEVEL 4:
             - Major CD ACTIVATION CODE
             - Path name to copy files to
             - Path for Btrieve files
             - Path of Menu-files

    LEVEL 1:
             - Address of SCSI controller (if you use a Future Domain
               controller)
             - Unit number of the Pioneer drive
             - First drive letter of CDROM drive

3) Backup your system if you didn't read the first step.

4) Delete the following files from your BBSV6 directory:
        - MR_CDDES.VIR
        - MR_CDFIL.VIR
        - MR_CDPAT.VIR
        - MR_CDSTA.VIR
        - MR_DWNL.VIR
        - MR_CDUTL.EXE
        - MR_MJRCD.DLL
        - MR_MJRCD.MDF
        - MR_MJRCD.MSG
        - MR_MJRCD.MCV

5) Copy the new versions of the files you just deleted to your BBSV6
    directory.

6) Configure Major CD again. Note: two options do have a different
function compared to previous versions of Major CD:
-LEVEL 4: Size of Retrieve block in bytes:
The previous version of Major CD copied files in
chunks of x kilobytes. The new version copies files
much better, but uses little blocks (in bytes). Set it
to 64 bytes until you know what you're doing!!!!
-LEVEL 4: Speed of file retrieval:
We've rewritten the routines that are copying the
files from your CD-ROM to your hard drive. The new
routine adjust its speed according to the system load
of your system. Start with a value of 20 and adjust it
                  later.

7) If you have a Pioneer jukebox connected to your system, please read
the file PIONEER.TXT for more information!!

8) If you're running the lan program of Major CD:
-Start the old program with "MR_LANRQ /S" and write down your
        configuration.
-Copy the new MR_LANRQ.EXE and MR_LANRQ.OVL to your workstation
       -Delete the file MR_LANRQ.CNF
-Configure the new lan program with "MR_LANRQ /S".
