Warlords Of Order And Chaos is a multiplayer medieval theme game.
 (C) 1996 Nth Degree Software

 Terrain:
The terrain of Warlords consists of areas claimed by 3 major entities,
Order, Chaos and the Void. Order and Chaos are constantly battling while
the Void represents the line that divides both. Although when you begin
game "aligned" with neither side of the battle, you will wind up as a
warlord of order, or a warlord of chaos. This often reflects the world we
live in. To be the master of a terrain is the ultimate show of power. The
more Terrains you (or your alliance) controls, the higher your rank will
 be.

 The Knifes Edge:
The Knifes Edges is the "avenue" that traverses the realm. One one end
of the realm you will find the haven for Order. On the opposite end of the
realm, you can find the haven for Chaos. Inbetween lies the Balance with
the mythical castle "tanelorn". The paths that run from Order To Balance,
Order To Chaos, Balance To Chaos and Chaos to Order are referred to as
the "Knifes Edge". This is the fine line dividing opposites. The knifes
edge is off limits for warriors of either Order or Chaos to claim with
 troops.

 Command Prompt:
The command Prompt allows you to control your empire at the highest
level. From this prompt, you can access other menus, each tailored to
    a particular need you have.

   - Display
This will display the current terrain. There is no cost involved in
      displaying your terrain.

   - Move
You can "move" from terrain to other terrains. If the terrain is
next to your current location, you will move there immediately. If
however the destination terrain is not next to you, a path will be
      generated to get you there.

   - Attack
Hostility is a fundimental aspect of the realm. You can engage in
combat by simply pressing "A" from the command promt. You will be
presented with a list of all players in your current terrain with
      an option to attack.

   - Enter Village
The hub of commerce, villages are vital to the survival of the realm.
Inside villages you can trade commodities, hire soldiers, purchase
equipment and recruit workers for your castle(s). You can even relax
and have a drink at the tavern.

   - Enter Castle
The backbone and powerhouse of any noble is the castle. A castle can
provide more than just a place to rest. A castle is a fine place to
store your gold, much safer than carrying it with you, and can have
defenses (sometimes massive) to protect your treasury. A castle can
also house the recruited workers from the villages, they willingly
work in return for the protection. Also, some of these peasants get
trained in the use of weapons, and join the ranks of your soldiers.

   - Public Message
You can communicate with other lords within the realm. This can be
handy, and your message will be directed to all players who are
in the game at this time.

   - Private Message
You can specify a private messaging channel and communicate with
only those on the same channel. This is great for communicating with
      those in your alliance.

   - Information
This affords a quick glimpse of you and your army you are currently
      with.

   - Build Village
One of the most important abilities that a player has, is the ability
to build villages. It is the sign of a healthy realm when many villages
      thrive.

   - Build Castle
A vital task, building castles affords protection, as well as assets.
The cost of creating a castle can be recouped many times over during
      the lifetime of the structure.

   - Scout Adjacent
You can check your surroundings without having to actually move into
them. This requires scouts, which can be purchased at the equiptment
shops in the villages. A scout will check all adjacent terrains to
you and report their contents. Keep in mind that 50% of the time, a
scout doesn't make it back alive.

   - Display Assets
If you are wondering where you put that castle, or where your assets
are, this is the command to use. This will show which castles you own
as well as their location and contents.

   - Deploy Forces
The best way to protect your territory is to deploy forces. The
stationed troops will defend the territory on your behalf, even when
     you are not online.

   - Dump Contents
Don't want the contents of those wagons? Try this!

   - Alliance Menu
A critical component of going for the crown, alliances are valuable.
It was once said that the sum of the whole is worth more than the
pieces. An alliance gives you the ability to pool your resources with
others to create a common goal, and a team.

   - Teleport
In order to move between armies, and control them, this is the way.

   - Claim Territory
A critical component of a Lord, claiming territories is the ultimate
     in showing your experience.
