Put the distribution diskette in drive A: and type: A:INSTALL 2. To Customize Trivia: A. Select option 3 from the BBS menu. Find the Jabberwocky option and put in your activation code, which is customized for your particular Major BBS. B. Select option 4 and customize Trivia in a manner appropriate to your system design. If you can't figure out what something does, it's best to go with the default setting. DEMO VERSION ------------ A demo version of Trivia is available for evaluation purposes only. The demo contains all the features of the registered version of the game, but runs for a limited period of time (approximately two weeks). NOTE: The demo version has 7,000 questions, if you order Trivia you can download our database of nearly 50,000 questions! SYSOP COMMANDS -------------- CHEAT - Tells you the answer! Note that this command is issued from within teleconference. UTILITIES --------- JABTTIN.EXE Trivia Data Import routine. To add a bunch of questions into the database just run this program at the DOS command line. Note, you'll need to run Btrive first by typing "BBSBTR". for example: BBSBTR JABTTIN (Or you can run the JABTTIMP routine from the BBS utilities instead). The JABTTIN program looks for a file named "JABTTQST.IN" for the list of questions and answers you'd like to add to the database. The file should be a standard ASCII text file (no special characters). Each question should be on a line by itself with the answer to it on the following line. The following file will add 3 questions to the database. What does the Hebrew word amen mean? So be it What does the Greek word Hosea stand for? Salvation What was the Apostle Luke educated as? Physician We provide and empty question database if you wish to start from scratch. It is JABTTQST.VIR. To clear out ALL the questions in the database and replace it with an empty question database just replace the .DAT file with the .VIR file. To do this you can type: COPY JABTTQST.VIR JABTTQST.DAT TRIVEDIT.EXE Trivia Data editor routine. To edit any question in the database for things like spellings errors, ect. just run this program at the DOS command line. Keep in mind you'll need to know a question's unique record number. You can find this out while the game is playing by using the DISPLAY command. Note, you'll need to run Btrive first by typing "BBSBTR". for example: BBSBTR TRIVEDIT (Or you can run the TRIVED routine from the BBS utilities instead). The TRIVEDIT program looks for a file named "JABTTQST.DAT" which is the questions and answers database.
