GunFighter (aka Brawl) ---------------------- You been ridin' the range all day. Yer hot, dusty, an' needs ta unwind. Ya swagger up ta the double swingin doors of the teleconference, and spit a wad of tobaccy as ya kick em open. The room goes silent as every cattle rustler, gunslinger, and train robber from here to the Pecos eyes you up. Ya git the feelin' somethin' ain't right. Maybe it's because nobody's smilin', or maybe the room don't smell so good. Reach fer yer gun, Pardner, 'cause you just stepped into a BAR ROOM BRAWL! Welcome to Gunfighter, ya arnery rattlesnake. The object is simple, keep alive while tryin' ta wipe out the others. You BRAWL in teleconference so ya don't have to go no-wheres special. And if'en the sheriff shows up, Brawl's over till he leaves. Got it? Ok, here's the basics: * type BRAWL ON to join the game * you start with a loaded Pistol holstered. * type DRAW PISTOL -wait for " has drawn a pistol". * type AIM to start aiming at the cowpoke you want to shoot. Note: the longer you aim, the better shot you'll get. type INV * type SHOOT to start slinging lead! Gunfighter commands. Just use these right in teleconference. Note that some actions have a delay time, while others don't. INV - Inventory: how ya doin, what ya got, bullets left. DRAW - Different guns have different draw times. AIM - Keep in mind that there is an OPTIMAL aimin' time. SHOOT - To fire both barrels of a shotgun type SHOOT DBL. LOAD - Yer liable ta run outta bullets,use this when ya do. HOLSTER - Holster yer weapon; only one in yer hand at a time. GRAB - Git yerself some of them there items layin' around. HIT - Hit other brawlers with whatever is in your hand DROP - Drop whatever ya got in yer hand. ESC - Vamoose out the back door. Watch yer hide,it's slow. CALLOUT - Challenge the sidewinder what's done ya wrong. VIEW ITEMS - Items can git from around ya. Like from dead guys. VIEW BRAWLERS - A list of the cowpokes joinin' in our little game. THROW - Throw items at others - especially lit DYNAMITE! LIGHT - Light DYNAMITE (fuse length is unpredictable) DEFUSE - Destroys DYNAMITE (lit or unlit) BRAWL ON - Enter brawl mode, allows you to see brawl messages. BRAWL OFF - Exit brawl mode, you will no longer see anything. BRAWL (HELP/ACTIONS/ITEMS/SCORING/NEW) - various help screens The followin' is the items found round these parts: COLT - Colt 45; medium DRAW time & 6 shots. The most powerful pistol. REVOLVER - Smith & Wesson (fast draw type); Very similar to the Colt 45. SNEAK - Sneak Gun; 0 DRAW time, light damage, max. 5 shots. PISTOL - Also 6 shots & medium DRAW. You have one of these strapped on and fully loaded at the start of the BRAWL. SHOTGUN - It's a slow DRAW, but does heavy damage with its 2 shots. To fire both at once type SHOOT DBL. GATLINGGUN - Light damage, a maximum of 15 shots, but slow loading. All shots have the same chance of hitting no matter how long you aim. You can't HOLSTER this weapon. BOTTLE - light damage CHAIR - heavy damage DYNAMITE - heavy damage, especially to the person holding it! You also advance to new levels over time. The different gunfighter classes are: GREENHORN - basic level, no special characteristics. BORDER RIDER - faster GRAB ability. SHARPSHOOTER - better chance to hit (any weapon but gatlinggun). GUNSLINGER - top level, FAST DRAW ability. Note: Each class keeps the abilities of the lower levels. You must survive a brawl and score at least one kill in order to increase your class. If you die, you are reset to GREENHORN. Outlaws: If you kill enough brawlers, you become an OUTLAW (shown on INV display). Any outlaws that have not ESCaped by the end of the brawl are arrested by the sheriff. When arrested, you lose any money or weapons weapons you may have gained. You keep your class, however. A bounty is posted for the outlaw with the most kills. Scoring: The top gunfighter is determined based on money and kills accumulated in the brawl. Unusually mean, rich or dead brawlers are sometimes noted. New with this release of Gunfighter: DYNAMITE : GRAB it, LIGHT it, and THROW it at someone. But be careful -- you may take some damage from the explosion too! DEFUSE to destroy lit or unlit DYNAMITE. IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP--dynamite fuse length is unpredictable. There's nothing that'll send you to cowpoke heaven like holding exploding dynamite. THROW : Don't DROP that empty handgun--THROW it at someone (especially if you are well-rested). THROW or DEFUSE lit DYNAMITE. SCORING : Now done on a brawl-by-brawl basis. Brawlers who have accumulated a lot of money (or kills) in their career are sometimes noted too.
