To install Oltima 2000, exit out of your bbs, insert the Oltima 2000 distribution diskette in drive a: and type A:INSTALL. If you have any problems installing the program to your hard drive, please call our support line for prompt and immediate assistance. After you have installed the program to your hard drive, you now need to install it to your menus using configuration option 2 at the Major BBS main menu. All the neccesary steps for installing programs are discribed in Chapter 4 (MENU TREE DESIGN) of your Major BBS System Operators manual. CNF CONFIGURABLE OPTIONS ============================================================================= There are many configuration variables for Oltima 2000. In configuration level 3, you will find the variable: ACTCOD If you bought Oltima outright, you need to make sure the correct activation code is in this area. However, if you are leasing, your activation codes are located in a data file and the program should run for the set amount of months that you purchased the program. If you are leasing Oltima, you do not have to put anything here. The following variables are located in configuration level 4: YORCHA This is the character that will represent your particular player on your screen. In the center of your map screen this character will appear if you are on foot. YORHOR If your character happens to be on a horse, this is the character that will show up in the center of your map screen. This will also show up in the area details to any other user who can see you. WHTBAD You can limit players to play at certain baud rates. Any user that is logged onto the system above the baud rate specified here can not play the game. SELPCT When a user tries to sell an item back to the shops, this is the percentage that that person will get back for the item. There are other variables that come into play, but this is the base percentage. WHTSEE You can play oltima where users are automatically able to see through the walls. This will make the game very easy, and will also make some spells such as XRAY obsolete. BOTCOS This is the amount of gold that you want to charge someone for a boat. They will not be able to purchase a boat in certain areas if they do not have this amount of gold. JALCOS This is the amount of gold that you want to charge someone for bailing another user out of Jail. If they do not have this amount of gold in their possesion, they will not be able to buy a jail key.
