LOADING
To load hold down SHIFT and press RUN/STOP. The Program (which is in TWO parts), will load and run. When the title page appears, STOP THE TAPE DECK.

CONTROLS
Steer your patrol car using a joystick in Port 2. To accelerate, push the stick in the direction you are heading. To brake, push in the opposite direction. To move to your left or right, push in the appropriate direction. To TURN left or right, push in that direction whilst pressing 'FIRE'. 'U'-turns and spins are possible with practice!

During your assignments on the streets of SIREN CITY, you will be equipped with a variety of weapons. The weapon carried will be triggered (in the direction the car is facing) by pressing any function key.

You may abort your assignment by pressing any SHIFTed function key.

THE GAME
SIREN CITY is the roughest town in the whole U.S.A.  A maze of skyscrapers and seemingly peaceful suburban roads, on its streets lurk some of the toughest criminals not behind bars. As a rookie patrolman, it is your job to keep law and order, but your opponents are evil indeed!

Slit-throat Steve : Public Enemy No. 1

After his escape from Utah State Penitentiary, whilst serving a three-year term for software piracy, dragster ace Steve began a reign of terror on the roads. No pedestrian (or patrolman) is safe from this psychopathic killer. Almost equally dangerous is his partner in crime!

Dune-Buggy Jon : Public Enemy No. 7

Wanted for the murder of 15,950,250 points worth of aliens of various colours, renegade ex-marine Jon is an expert helicopter pilot and crack-shot with a bazooka.

Dr J. Davies Ph.D, V.E.A.S.

Following his vile vivisection experiments, Dr Davies vanished from the scientific community. Now believed to be in SIREN CITY, this insane genius has funded many of Steve and Jon's most heinous crimes (a shocking driver, he never takes to the road himself).

Details of each assignment will come over the teleprinter at the appropriate time, if requested. Seasoned cops need not wait for these.

TACTICS for all rookies:
Your performance will be assessed by your superiors, and a place may be given you on the City Roll of Honour.
Factors taken into account will include the number of criminals brought to justice and the survival rate of the city's patrol cars. Rookies may find it helpful to have an experienced cop 'riding shotgun'.
